I'll be moving up there after the wedding and did some house hunting over the weekend..
I saw a place that I fell in love with in Brighton - does anyone know anything good/bad about the area??

I lived in different parts of Boston for about 10 years. Brighton is a very nice area, and tends to be a younger type of place. You will find more college age people.
I miss Boston!! In fact, I think it's time I booked a visit!!!

I live in Boston and lived in Brighton for 3 years. A lot of it is college-town and that's why I left, but there are quieter areas. FM me if you want more info. I live a few blocks from BC and just couldn't stand the college parties at 3am on a Wednesday night anymore! Good luck!

Hi, I used to live in Boston. Brighton is fun but rowdy. Not a quite place on a Saturday night. If you are looking for a part of the city geared more toward couples / young professionals try Back Bay.

I lived in Boston for 7 years- some of it in Brighton. Like others have mentioned much of the Allston/Brighton area is often lovingly reffered to as the 'student ghetto.' There's nothing ghetto about it, but it is an affordable place for students to live so there's tons of students there. Also a real lack of parking if you plan on having a car.
If its in your price range try to stay within Boston proper, Brookline or even Cambridge.
If you have any questions I lived around Kenmore/ The Fens, Cleveland Circle, Allston/Brighton & then Cambridge too.

Brookline is a great neighborhood, kind of quieter, but still in the city with a zillion restaurants, cute shops etc. Back bay is BEAUTIFUL but it is really expensive to live down there! I lived in Allston when I was in college and everyone who lived in the allston/brighton area was a college student. I wouldnt want to live there now, but JMO

I'm in Boston now. I agree that you should try looking in Brookline...it's more young professionals and families...and the housing there is much nicer...and there's tons of stuff to do. I live in Fenway now, and it is LOUD with all the college kids around.
