Anyone married in a Lutheran church?

If so, can you chose a non religious reading? Does it depend on the parish? We are not religious but the only choices the pastor gave us were religious ones.

TIA!

We are lutheran but we got married at our hall!! We chose religious ones....I believe since you are using the church and the pastor that it has to be religious, otherwise maybe look into hiring........

I got married at a lutheran church. We used the religious readings that they recommended. That was what we wanted. Talk to the Pastor, maybe there is an alternative.

I'd ask the pastor, because ultimately it's his/her game. My friends got married in a Lutheran church although she's Episcopalian, and her husband is Jewish--they had a dual-officiant ceremony--and had NO problems. Some churches are up for less traditional things than others--so as I said early, check with YOUR churches pastor.
