Sorry to crash - FH & I just bought our first home in CT....a little outside of New Haven. Its an adorable cape that was a bargain! We both work in New Haven and make the same salary we did in NYC. So far its great, still close to home but much more affordable up here. If you have any questions, fm me. Good luck!

Already relocated to PA and am loving it! We'll definitely move back when we have children, even though we love it down here.
Where in PA are you?
On the mainline, right outside of Philly.
Can we come live by you so I have a friend?LOL
We'll be moving to London or Hong Kong shortly after the wedding. I'll be stationed out there for a year for work. Fingers crossed for London!!!!
Just remember, it's not as cheap as you think, as long as you stay on the east coast. I moved here from MD, and our rent is actually less here. Also, the real estate market is still pretty tough there b.c many people are federal employees, and they are not hurting financially. If you go further south, your cost of living may decrease, but so will your income. As long as you stay on the east coast, it can be tough.

I'll be relocating to Virginia (Richmond area). FH has been there for almost 4 years already. Our entire relationship has been long distance with the exception of the first month.
i will be moving back to NY once we are married. i'm sick of flying back and forth haha

FH works right by where you live. He stays up there at the company condo two or three nights a week. He didn't want to live there though. We are boaters, boating in CT is just not the same.

I would have to disagree, if you stay on the shoreline, its a huge beach/boating area. We are on a shoreline town, less than 1 mile to the boat ramp and beach. We are boaters as well and my parents are....they even take there boat over to CT in the summer and dock it at the marina. If you head inland and further north, yes the boating is non-existent but its definitely still here in my area.
