FH and I wanted something really simple when it comes to our dj. We wanted 1 man dj/mc with no lights or anything. We don't want any crazy plasmas, etc. We just felt like the Woodlands is old fashioned and very elegant...and that stuff might take away from it.
anyone think that it will look cheap or like somethings missing if we don't do all that stuff?

We are doing just the dj/mc and the very basic lighting package. I didn't want any of the plasma's or anything like that-i think it's all a matter of personal preference

i think it depends on your venue. i have never been to yours, so i couldnt have an opinion. but we arent doing all the 'club' lighting either. we could have had it thrown in as part of a package, but we didnt want it. the only lighting we are getting is the up-lighting.
but at the end of the day... i cant imagine anything looking 'cheap'

I hav e been finding it hard to decide on certain things but you have to remeber you have to do what YOU and your FH want and feel is right! I know our opions count of course and I love this site to turn too! But you answered it yourself your RH is more old fashioned then go with that I am sure it will be awsome...

thanks everyone...We found the dj we want to book:) so I was just trying to make sure we wanted to stick with the basic package we had discussed....I am sure we can always change it later on if we decide to add anything..but I am pretty sure we will just stick with the simple package. All I want is a dj who will have everyone on the dance floor!

To be honest with you .. I went totally crazy with the dj.. I spent a lot of $$ but yet that was the most important thing to me because I love to dance.

we are just getting the DJ/MC basic Light package. The only thing we are adding is the percussionist to add the live affect

I don't really want anything crazy with the D.J. We're having a day time wedding and we're in the dome room (which has a HUGE dome on the ceiling) so we don't need the lights or lightshow. The only thing that interests me are the plasma t.v's..but if they're too much i dont want them.

FH wanted Plasmas and when I was looking into them they were around at least $1000. I know that was way to much for me so I told him no way but they are really nice though. Maybe if we have extra money towards the end we will add them.

IMO giveaways are cheesy for weddings

We didn't book yet but I know that we are gonna stick to something basic no plasmas, nothing crazy with the lights because it's during the day so we won't need it....
