So I already asked my maid of honer since my engagement party is in a few weeks and wanted toask her before then. But depending on FH, a person he was gonna ask to be in the BP is now not able to come to the wedding at all, we may not have a BP, only a maid of honor and best man. I have 2 people in mind to ask, but am still not 100% certain and don't want to regret asking people after seeing hearing some stories, so I wanted to wait until the end of the summer. My wedding is in May. Is this ok to do? FH was asked to be in a BP 2 months before, so I think they have more then enough time since my wedding is in May of next year.

Don't ask unti you are 100% sure. You don't want to be put in the situation of having to 'kick people out' and adding new one's and all that. i also think it's nice to wait till you both ask your parties until u are both sure and ask at the same time.
I've been engaged for almost 5 months and i've only asked 1 girl, FSIL. We are asking people in september, we have 1 big wedding we gotta get through first.

i would not wait until 2 mths before...esp for the girls bc some bridesmaids dresses can take 6-8 mths to come in.
fh was also in a wedding party where he wasn't asked until like a month or 2 before and we honestly thought it was a little rude...he just assumed he wasnt part of it and then last minute was asked and they had to rush out to go order suits.
you dont have to rush out and ask, but i would def ask at least like 6 mths before the wedding if not sooner...

.I didn't ask my BP right away because I wasn't sure who wanted to be in the wedding. I have lots of good friends and I couldn't chose between them. I decided to wait a few months and figure out who really cared enough about the wedding. I asked my MOH right away though and now I wish that I waited to do that too because I have a change of heart. I ordered my BM cards today so I will be asking them within the next few weeks

im only having 3 girls. they knwo who they are. i bought cards for them and tory burch flip flops but the flip flops wont get ni til next month.. i guess ill ask this weekend. or whenever i see each one. its def not a shocker.
but WAIT to ask and make sure its who u want.

i would def try to give them as much time as possible...1 ordering the dresses are gunna take time ..2 they are gunna have to save and put money aside for it and u dont know what there financial situation is right now so you dont know how much time they would need
i def wouldnt ask any later than the end of the summer

yea i agree... don't ask anyone until youre 100% sure
my sister had just a BM and MOH.. it was very nice (plus a lot of the pictures came out really nice bc you didn't have to worry about 10 people looking good!)

I think you should waite til you are 100% sure. I have only asked one of five at this point lol I was waiting to get cards for them. The BM I asked was SHOCKED and said no one thinks I am asking anyone except my sister I guess bc I have been engaged for five months now...

def dont ask until you are 100% sure who you want in it... i thought long n hard on this issue and for the most part, im glad i waited... i didnt ask anymore until about 1 1/2 yrs after getting engaged (which was about 8 months before the wedding)

i have been asking one at a time. i know who i want, just havent asked everyone. one girl left to go. but she recently got out of a LTR, so i wanted to wait to give her some time...
ask when you are ready. no rush. no stress.

I haven't asked anyone yet. 2 girls are a definite for me but I haven't asked them. I still have 2 other people to choose and I'm stuck between 4 people.
