I didn't.....I didn't want to look back on my wedding pics and feel like I would never look as good....although I still feel that way since everyone looks amazing on their wedding day since they are filled with and surrounded by LOVE!

My whole life has been about dieting, so I don't think I count.

Same here. And now I feel if my wedding can't motivate me to do it, nothing can!

First and foremost, you're beautiful and you really shouldn't be sad about not being motivated to lose weight. I say to h*ll with dieting. . . it is an incredibly cruel invention. . . and nothing can or will make you lose weight until you (and your body) are ready to. I have yo-yo dieted my whole life and about 2 years ago I finally just woke up one day and said enough. Today is the day I will set myself free from dieting and just make an effort to eat healthier and excercise more. I took up running, changed all my foods to the healthier versions (i.e. whole wheat pasta--now barilla plus instead because it has more protein and omega 3's whatever the heck they are , more fruits and veggies, very little fried foods. . .and low fat, not fat free. . . I never deprive myself but instead look at it as a choice of whether I really want whatever it is and if it is really worth it or can I be satisfied with something healthier. . . oh, and I ALWAYS eat breakfast) Anyway. . . two years later, I feel fantastic and I'm 50 pounds lighter without ever feeling deprived. . . my point you ask??

Be happy with who you are. . .and when you are ready to lose weight, you'll know it. Stop stressing over it and obsessing over it because it will just make you miserable. . . make small changes in your lifestyle and before you know it you'll be wanting to make healthier choices and you'll feel a thousand times better. . . you'll allow yourself to splurge on occasion without the guilt and depression. . . and slowly but surely you'll lose the weight. . . or realize that you are beautiful just the way you are. . . life isn't about being thin or who has what, it's about being the best 'you' you can be. . . and you can't get there unless you allow yourself to be happy with who you are. Be positive, be kind to yourself, love the skin your in and the rest will follow . . .

Okay, rant over Good luck

Re: Anyone NOT dieting before the wedding?

i've been engaged for almost 18 months. i told myself i'll start to diet exactly 1 year before the wedding...then i went on vacation and that got shot to hell!

then i told myself i'll start to diet right after the holidays...that got shot to hell!

then i told myself i'll start to diet right after easter....wasn't even close to happening!

so when my dress came in and it fit perfectly at my waist i said screw it! i dont want to give the seamstress too much work to do!!!!

the good thing is that i was at least working out and getting on the treadmill 3 days a week so i maintained my weight but didnt gain anything.
