Re: Anyone not do a photo montage?
i don't plan on doing it for my wedding... and i'm fine with that decision. i rather people have fun on the dance floor vs being 'forced' to watch something that they might not even be interested in.

I'm not planning on having one either. I don't like looking at pics of myself when i was younger, and i wouldn't make ne one else either. FH feels the same way. Plus we (not to offend ne one, so I apoligize if this gets taken the wrong way) are not wishy-washy, sentimental ppl, just really dwn to earth ya know? We are here to celebrate the present, not the past, and we just flat out do not like the idea.

I didn't do one. It sounds more like a bar/bat mitzvah thing to me. When it's a wedding and a couple, it seems like it's more about the future than the past. (Unless you've known each other since childhood, in which case it could be pretty cute.)
A lot of people put them into their wedding videos, so you could always do that without boring...err I mean showing it to... all your guests.

Definitely not. We're having a band so that's not an option.

Same here. Plus FH and I are not big photo takers, so we don't have many of us together.

I'm not and the ones I had to sit through, I wasn't paying attention to. I'm not even having tvs. Reminds me too much of a sweet 16 party, again only my opinion.

Re: Anyone not do a photo montage?
I thought I didn't want one, and then my friend had one at his wedding and I really liked it, it was a really nice touch. I don't currently have one booked but I'm still considering it. They had theirs during dinner when everyone was seated anyway so it didn't take away from the dancing.

Re: Anyone not do a photo montage?
We did it. But we didn't take away any dancing time... it was during the dinner. People loved it.
But I understand why people don't do them. I know they do it for sweet 16s and stuff.... but those are more family and individual oriented. the wedding ones should be more couple related. I personally like them... they are a chance for a real personal touch to the wedding. seeing where the bride and groom came from and then coming together.... I think it's sweet. And I like to see them at other weddings I go to also. it's nice to see the old pics of people and a couple.
I def prefer them to be shown during dinner though. I wouldn't want party time taken away.

WOW Ha.. well some of my bored guests complimented it on the video and to me after the wedding as well. some were really moved by it. And DH's father came and stood next to him for it... it was sooo sweet. But I must be misconstruing it all... because apparently all my guests were bored. silly me.

FH and I are doing one to honor all of our granparents because all of our grandparents have passed. So we're showing photos of them with us as kids. We were also planning on doing it during some seated portion of the evening. This is actually a huge priority for us, it's one of the only and most personal ways we are truly individualizing our wedding.
I know my family and his family are going to appreciate the gesture. And for those few who aren't interested, they're free to chat amongst themselves, I'm not forcing anyone to watch.

Re: Anyone not do a photo montage?
Fh and I are also doing them. Both of our fathers and other family members are deceased so it will be a nice way to bring parts of our past that the other can't experience into the present.
If it's played during dinner it won't cut down on the dinner time unless you plan to do a dance set during dinner. (which some halls don't allow).
