a videographer? We chose an expensive photographer and now we are sacrificing the video. I really want one and he wont bend

Re: anyone not doing....
we weren't going to do one, but everyone i talk to said to get one---you see things you missed, you can show your kids or family that couldn't make it......what about having a friend or someone just video for you? atleast then you have the raw footage to watch! HTH!!!

I'm in the same boat. He's been open to everything but won't give in on this. Sometimes I think it will be fine and other times I worry that I'm going to regret not having one.

Re: anyone not doing....
do y0u have any family members or close friends who are good with a video camera? that way all of the important moments will be caught on video and you won't go over budget.

Re: anyone not doing....
i want to do it behind his back. but i think i'll get in trouble. he things the cheaper the price of the videographer , the worse it will be. so either way in in a catch 22. i just really wanted the ceremony and reception. nothing fancy or anything. i have to find someone to do this. i hate this.

Re: anyone not doing....
if you can figure out how to swing it, i would do it. i was not into getting it, but after several of my friends got married and love watching their video over and over (because there is so much you will miss throughout the day, they say) my FH convinced me.
Good luck!

it's a little risky, but that could work out really well, I mean someone is bound to have a cancellation or not be booked and I'm sure they would rather make something instead of nothing for the day, right?

at my sister's wedding her friend who is was a budding independent film director, made a home wedding video with a camcorder and its the best wedding video i have ever seen its so personal and funny and captures all the right moments, and it was free too

Re: anyone not doing....
I know were not getting one we are using one of my uncles to video the ceremony and then my step dad will do some of the reception so I will get it on DVD some how or just keep it as a video, both the family members are good with camras so I dont minde not having one plus some times family members that do it for you get funny moments or moments that they know you want cause they know your taste better I love home made movies so keep that in minde as well and see what you can do.

FH didn't want one either, but then he realized all HE would be missing - me getting ready, getting in the limo, arriving at the ceremony etc. He also realized that I would be missing him doing all that same stuff. So he caved. Try putting it in that perspective and maybe your FH will bend a little.

We weren't going to do one either. However we compromised and are getting a videographer to come tape the ceremony only. He will edit that piece a bit for us for a total of $400. FM me if you want any info!

That's a great idea. I don't want to do a videographer because our photog was so over-budget and I honestly can' tsee my FH and I watching the video - ever. Good friends say the video won't be for us - it's for our children and grandchildren. I'm trying to convince myself that if I make a Photostory DVD of all my proofs that will be similar...am I crazy but paying another $1500 isn't in our budget right now!?
