i definitely say at least have somebody tape it for you.... it really does catch things that the still photos don't... and its so great to be able to go back and hear exactly what the officiant said during the ceremony ( because you're in a daze the whole time!) and to hear the best mans speech and everything, too....
we had my best friends dad do it for us. we got soo lucky, because he has a great digital camcorder, and he also doesn't drink or dance, so he said it didn't take away from his enjoyment of the wedding, either.. it actually gave him something to do! he put it on DVD for us with scene selection and everything....
i can tell you that the whole wedding day is a blur- DH and i got to the hotel room that night and were like ' what just happened?!' so its really great to have the video to relive the whole day in action...
