FH just said that he doesn't think we will ever read it and it's a waste of money. (Like $30 is going to put us over the edge!! )
So I was wondering if anyone is not doing one. It never crossed my mind not to do it, but maybe it isn't necessary?

Why don't you do a wish bowl instead?.... that way there's really nothing to keep if you don't want to....
I think its fine if you decide not to do one.

Technically, Im not doing one. I agree with your FH. I cant see myself perusing through this book. But I am purchasing the sign in frame from pottery barn. For the reception we will be placing one of our engagement pictures in the frame and have everyone sign in. Later, we will be replacing the pic with a wedding picture.

We're not doing one. I like the ideas - especially with the wish bowl but I know a good majority of the people just won't do it. So we decided to skip it.

I'm not doing anything like that. People will give us their good wishes in their cards. I doubt we'd look at the guest book more than once, and I wouldn't hang a sign-in picture on our wall.

I am not doing one either. My package w/Duet comes with a matted photo from our engagement shoot that will be a signing board at the reception. I can't picture myself looked at a guest book more than twice afterwards!!

We aren't doing the guest book, but may do the wishing bowl thing. Haven't decided yet.

I bought the ceramic signing platter and was planning on using that. Now I'm just thinking I may have just our parents and bridal party sign it at the RD and then skip the sign in at the wedding.

we are doing a photo guestbook. the wishbowl is a cute idea too and then you buy a little book and put everyone's wishes in them!

We're thinking of doing the picture frame idea but def. not the guest book. We know we'll rarely go back and read it. Knowing us we'll put it away for safe keeping & forget where it is!

I'm not doing one, just because whenever I go to a wedding or shower & they pass the guest book around for everyone to sign, I never know what to write. I always write my good wishes to them in the card. I feel uncomfortable when I have to sign it becasue I feel like I'm just restating what I wrote in the card.

we weren't going to do a guestbook (i've been to countless weddings and have never signed one). but when we went to pick up our engagement shots, i liked so many of them, we decided to do a 'signature book'...we picked 6 pics, and each will be on it's own page and the other side of the page is empty, and they give us gold & silver pens to use (the pages are black matting paper). they showed us a sample at the photographers and it was really beautiful.
