Is this really necessary? Or jus a formality? If you didn't do it, what did you replace it with???

I don't think that I'm doing it... it will take to D A M N long... to introduce 7 BM's & GM's... bride & grooms' parents.... oh and we we're replacing it by more time to par-tay!

Nope, we didn't do it. We only had DH and I announced. IMO, no one cares about the BP.

I have never been to a wedding where they did not introduce the BP.
IMO, I think it is a nice thing to do considering all the money they are spending and that they are special people to us. They will definitely be announced at our event.

Our hall said it takes long and is not necessary, but in the end we did do it. I think it adds to the anticipation of the B & G coming into the room.

One of my sisters did not do it, she only had her and her DH announced...It's not necessary but I think it's a nice way to acknowledge those people close to you who are standing by you on your wedding day.

Ditto for us! We didnt do intros and until recently I never saw them done. They were never done in my family. Nobody in our BP really cared and we got plenty of applause and love from our guest when we walked in.

ahh i didnt know you could just walk in and not be announced. . . .i wanted to do that but i thought it was like against bridal law or something. . .i have to mention it to my DJ - i am going to the CH anyway so its not like anyone is going to be shocked to see me. . .

I am just intorducing the BP and me and FH.. we are not introdcing the parents b/c FH's mom was divorced twice and dont' want to introduce her with her BF and FH's dad was remarried and well,,, we dont care for her soo... we aren't intorducing them.

I am doing them, but you don't have to. it does take up a lot of time, but it depends on what you like.

That's what we did...and the stinking best man and MOH made it a little showy...meanie heads. But the DJ kept it simple...and we were relieved.
