I only got 5 of my formal place settings and I registered for 12. I thought I would wait until after my wedding to see if I would get more as presents but the wedding has come and gone and nada. I didn't really want to register for formal china to begin with but my family kept insisting. Then once I got my them I fell in love with them. It seems so expensive to complete the set myself and I'm not sure what kind of return policy Fortunoff has. I don't anticipate having many formal dinners because my husband and I aren't really the entertaining type but now I'm not sure what to do with 5 beautiful formal place settings and 5 wine glasses and nothing else!!!
What would you ladies do?

then since it is so important to your fam for you to have it- ask for more pcs on special occasions

My FH's cousin registered for this insanely priced fine china..so now every year for christmas their grandmother buys her a place setting..Its very cute, and she honestly never uses it..so its not a big deal to wait

I only received 3 place settings. After my wedding my in laws bought us a place setting every year for our anniversary. We don't have a dining room set and we haven't had the need for more than 4 as it stands right now. I think I have 6 place settings. You can make it known that you would like to complete your set so maybe when the holidays come around you will get some.

This has happened to a lot of my cousins. I know that there family bought them the remaining pieces for holiday and birthdays over the next few year. You can tell your family that you want the set completed so that they get the hint to buy it for you. In the meantime I would buy the sixth set so that you can have small dinner parties.

I only got 7 and didn't receive the platters and soup bowls etc.. I have 2 more weeks till the wedding and then I have to buy it myself.. It is a shame not to complete the set ya know..

I've always wanted china (I'm just that kind of girl) and I didn't receive all of it, and I haven't gotten around to buying the rest of it yet, but my mom knows I want it so for christmas or my birthday she'll finish it, eventually.

that is what I was going to say. buy either 1 or 3 more, that way, you can still have nice dinners for a few close family and friends.
