We are considering just driving to the reception hall and having our bridal party drive themselves as well. FH just got a new nice car.
Our ceremony and reception is at the same place. Bridal party would need their own transportation going home anyways.
I have never been a fan of limos. JMO.

I thought the same thing....We Could drive ourselves there! When I said that! I had people all telling me......No WAy you have to get a Limo! How are you going to fit in the car and not get wrinkled. I had People offer to pay for the Limo.....So, I buckled under presure.... and got Two Limos now!

Re: Anyone NOT getting formal transportation?
If my ceremony was where my reception was, I probably wouldn't have gotten a limo but, since it's at a church, I wanted the limo to take us to the reception all together (my friend got married last year and didn't have limos between the church and the reception and it was kind of annoying having to drive all over creation in separate cars to take pics and stuff in between the church and the reception).

If your ceremony & reception are in the same place I don't think that limos are needed at all. Maybe you could even get dressed on site to avoid wrinkling your dress? I'm sure you could use the bridal suite prior to the ceremony for this if you wanted to.

Re: Anyone NOT getting formal transportation?
We did not want formal transportation. Ceremony and reception were at the same site.
Because of time frame schedule, we ended up getting a 6 people limo pick up/drop off only. I was not even made up. But it was easy to get 3 people in the car and take all our 'gear' with us. We did not want to wrinkle our dresses (in bags) either.
DH came to the RH with his dad.
No formal transportation on the way back.

MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!
It was a total waste of money and I refused to spend it even though my MIL kept pushing for it.
If the ceremony and recpetion had been in diff. places, I might have felt differently...but why pay all that money for a car that you really don't use....most places quoted us in 3-hour intervals...so either i'd need a ride home or ride to the event[s]....or pay extra...which is dumb b/c the 3 hours isn't driving, it's 3 hours, start to finish. so i'd have been paying for a car to sit. no thanks!

I am not, I don't like limos, I find them uncomfortable and always feel like I'm 'falling' into them.

Re: Anyone NOT getting formal transportation?
I was just a BM in a wedding where the ceremony and reception were in the same place and we had no formal trans....bride and BMs rode in her dad's towncar, groom and groomsmen piled into an explorer like it was a clown car...it actually made it more fun that way...the bride did, however wear a sheath dress that was cut like an evening gown so that wasn't a concern, but I guess since you said you'd drive with FH, space wouldn't be a concern for you either, I say if you con't care about it, forget it!!!
