I'm thinking about not having a guestbook because I feel like people are not going to sign it. There are some neat keepsake ideas out there like a plate, but there would never be enough room for everyone even if they did sign it. I dont recall seeing guest books at any of the weddings i've ever been to.

I didn't have one. I never sign them when I go to weddings that have them either

Re: Anyone not having a guest book?
I'm having one! I always sign them at weddings, as do my family/friends. My cousin had a photobooth and had people paste those into a guestbook, which was also cool. We made a guestbook on shutterfly of our engagement pics and cropped pics so there is room to write. It was only like 25 bucks,

We are doing the wish tree. It's a nice twist on the guest book and it looks beautiful

We aren't doing a guestbook. We're doing this instead. Another LIW-er posted it and I fell in love!
It's a 'Wedding Tree' - you can find them on Etsy.

Re: Anyone not having a guest book?
well the guestbook we are doing is actually an album of our E-Pics and I left spaces for people to sign. Even if they don't sign anything, or not too many people sign, it's no biggie because I would have made an album of our pics anyhow.

And I'm going to have people fingerprint and sign it at the end of the night when they get their favors from the favor table. That way I can make sure everyone 'signs' as they're leaving.

Re: Anyone not having a guest book?
I'm not having one for the same reasons. I've also never signed one...I did sign a big picture of the couple once that was by the entrance to the reception...but they had less than 100 people there so it was probably easier.
If you want to make sure a large number of guests sign something (because that would suck to have like10 people sign something for a 150 guest wedding) try putting something on each table so it's less people to worry about for each and everyone will see it. I did something like that for a friends baby shower. I put small note cards on each table (about 50 people) and instructed guests to leave a short message for the baby to read years later. I collected all the cards at the end and put them in a photo box for the parents to be able to flip through like an album. It was really nice and the guests and parents liked it.
