No, I don't think so... We're not having a huge thing. We will prob just have it at my parent's house and just cater it.

I'd say just to coffee and desert at you parent's house. It will save you a huge headache and then your FMIL won't be in control.

Re: anyone not having a RD
We arent having one but the 2 nights before the wedding we are going to dinner with our friends/Bridal party who live out of state.
You could just exclude yourselves from the RD and do something separate with your friends, but will your FH go for that?

You poor thing....
I dont think you necessarily need to do a formal dinner. I do think its nice to do something for OOT guests, if you have any and they were going to be included. Are you sure you want to fight this battle though? Just wonder what kind of precedent it might set for future dealings with FMIL.

Re: anyone not having a RD
we're not. there really is no reason to IMO. We are getting married at the Fox Hollow and there is nothing to really rehearse, besides according to my mother jews don't have rehearsal dinners. lolol I didn't realize it was a religion thing but I know not to mess with my mother lol

Is this true ? I was planning on having one for my OOT guests and bridal party , but if jews dont then .... but then again, jews arent supposed to have a bridal shower and i am having one
one more thing to debate over in my head

Re: anyone not having a RD
For my aunt's wedding she had a short cocktail hour with her OOT and family. We then had a nice dinner with just her immediate family. Her FH had dinner with his kids. It was actually really nice and perhaps a good alternative give the problems that the RD is causing.

Re: anyone not having a RD
i'm still not sure about having one. We're getting married at the RH so it won't really be a 'rehearsal' at all. FH's family will be coming in from out of town so his parents want to have a dinner with everyone, but I honestly think they'll be surprised how expensive most things are down here, and I feel bad knowing they can't afford much. so we'll see.

You have to do what you and your FH want. My FH and I are not really having a rehearsal and we are going to have a very small bbq at my mom's house.

Re: anyone not having a RD
Aww Bellez, I really thought this whole thing would be blown over by now. I feel just horrible for you!
Is there anyone else that isn't involved that can speak to FH for you?? I know that sounds a little strange but when my FH is being completely irrational, his brother will usually be able to get him to see my point.
You must be so upset right now.

Re: anyone not having a RD
my FH and I are not on the same page at all. I think it will be best if we just cancel it but I think she will just get more upset. she does not see my view and is very hurt by me?? I dont get it and his family thinks I am just flat out wrong. She has told me now that I get my way and no one will be invited with a guest and it wasn't such a big deal and I made it out to be one. I am still very upset with this and it really ***** My FH and I have different schedules and wont be able to sit down and discuss it till tomorrow night. this tension is killing me. I really love him and I know he really loves me but we are both very angry with each other right now. He does not know I would like to cancel it and that is something I will bring up to him tomorrow night.
I know I keep saying the same thing but I love you girls and I am very greatful for everyones wishes.
