Anyone not having a rehearsal?

Anyone not having a rehearsal?

We called the priest last week to see when the rehearsal would be and he told us that they typically do not do rehearsals there. He said that all everyone really does is just walk down the aisle and half the time some people don't show up. But if I really wanted to have one he would open the church for me. I understand his point and don't really think it is necessary. We are still going to have a dinner or maybe change it to a lunch the weekend before to give out bridal party gifts and all. Any opinions on this? Anyone else not doing a rehearsal?

We are getting married at the RH, and not having a rehearsal. I have been in 2 weddings where there was no rehearsal .... I think your priest has a good point, everyone knows how to walk!

I know its tradition to have one, but just think of all the extra rest you'll get!

Or, you could still have a dinner if you wanted to have something to kick off the weekend. We are, and calling it a 'Welcome Dinner'.

I am getting married at our RH too and we are not having a rehersal. Just a quick run through the morning of (right before the real ceremony).

I've never heard of a church NOT having a rehearsal...odd. Defintely ask if you could have one...I was at my best friend's rehearsal last night and TRUST me, one is very necessary!

Re: Anyone not having a rehearsal?

we're having a sort-of rehearsal.

We're doing a 'rehearsal dinner' the night before, and I'd like to talk through the ceremony them with everybody, but our officiant probably won't be there, and it won't be on location. We're getting married at the hall and they have another even their that night (Friday) so we couldn't be there. They said we could do it on Thursday, but several members of our bridal party are coming in from out of town on Friday, so that won't work. So, we're going to talk through it Friday night, and then on Saturday afternoon we'll take 10 or 15 minutes to walk through it and put everybody in their places when we're actually there and everything is all set up.

We are getting married at our RH and my DOC said that what typically happens is that the BP will do a quick run through about 20 minutes before the ceremony.

We are getting married at our hall and they do not allow a rehearsal, but we are going to do a quick run through at our church before the dinner.

you don't need one .. you could even plan it out yourself.. thats what I did.. and we just had a backyard bbq .. it was better than being cramped in a resturant..
