Re: Anyone Not Registering??
IF YOU are having a bridal shower then yeah it might be a bad idea...the thing is that people are not going to show up empty handed so theyre going to buy you things regardless. Without a registry you can end up with like 5 toasters, 3 blenders and so on. I know alot of ppl already live together but theres still things you can register for...For one you can update your things, theres nothing wrong with updating your sheets, comforters, towels. Plus theres so many kitchen gadgets the average household doesnt have...I have TONS of non-typical things. Also wedding things, such as toasting flutes, albums, frames, cake topper, cake server and knife. Either upgrade or put items you dont have

Awesome idea for the wedding things!!! It's crazy b/c almost everyone on both sides of our families brought us things like that (toasters, pots, pans, china etc...) as soon as we moved in...so I would feel funny asking for more or a new one of those - but Thank You for the Ideas!!!!

well dont feel funny bc the bridal shower is about showering the bride with gifts. Who knows what you'll end up with if you don't register. Like i said, your guests at the shower wont show up empty-handed so they'll get something regardless

We've lived together for 3 years and I managed to fill up 3 diff. registries. Trust me, you can find stuff that you need/want if you look.

Re: Anyone Not Registering??
I had the same prob. But just browse a website (maybe Bed Bath and Beyond) I am sure you will find a few things you dont have. Just to register for the bridal shower.
And since you guys have 'house of stuff' already, maybe u should do a honeymoon registry. I am registered at thehoneymoon.com

Re: Anyone Not Registering??
I agree with espo.... and also upgrade some things you already have that you might have bought the cheaper one when you first moved in. That is what my sister did bc her and DH lived together for 2 years.. she registered for new things, more things and things she would never buy herself.

Re: Anyone Not Registering??
I have been living with FH for over a year now as well and feel the same way!! We have a lot!! BUT I felt like I was being forced to register!! Anyway once I got there & saw all the nice new stuff I decided to upgrade some stuff!! LOL Plus we registered for some different things like a GPS, a fire pit, a digital camera, etc. LOL
Another option if you are are really not into that is they have honeymoon registries too!!

Re: Anyone Not Registering??
I agree with Espo...people are going to buy you stuff regardless so you might as well pick it out. Why not think ahead and get bedding for a bedroom you don't have yet? or extra sheets? You might want that stuff a few years down the line. How bout pictures and such. I registered for a vera bradley bag I want as my carry on for my honeymoon. AS far as honeymoon registries my travel agent is allowing people to buy our excusions we want on our honeymoon. So we just give their number and people can call. How bout china? you might not want it or use it now but when you have a family and host a family get together hyou might want it...same with silverware and crystal. I did pretty crystal candlesticks and vases. There is so much that I am sure you don't have and think you don't need now...but try to picture yourself with a family and think if you'll want it 5 years from nwo?

I would register for a few things.. otherwise its like you are asking for money only.. you can also ask for gift cards or register for your Honeymoon
