anyone not throwing anything outside of church?

Our church is so strict about what NOT to throw, my daughter is thinking of not having anything throw (streamers, confetti, etc) she doesn't want bubbles because we've heard they can stain some dresses. Anyone else not throwing anything outside of the church?

We didnt throw anything...the church was strict on not throwing anything that had to be cleaned up. SO we did throw anything. Nobody missed it-most people were glad they didnt have to do anything

i'm doing bubbles because i'm never going to wear the gown again, who cares if there are bubble stains on it?

besides, knowing my luck someone is going to spill red wine on me as soon as i walk into the reception anyway.

I'm in the no throw club too; its going to be dark out and probably cold (nov. 23) so we're skipping that. truthfully i know we wont even miss it! Another option is ribbon wands, if you do a search you'll get lots of hits - loads of brides here have bought/made those instead of throwing anything!

churches are usually okay with rose petals as long as they're real ones & can be chopped up when the landscapers come....it looks really beautiful too - i had planned on it but it was a wind & partial rain storm so we never got to!

we're not throwing anything. Our church is also really strict about throwing stuff, and I didnt care about it either way so were not having anything thrown.

we didn't.. one, my church asked us not too and also it was february and so cold. honestly i didn't miss it. sure it might have made a nice picture, but i did not want anything thrown in my face or staining my dress. everyone clapping and cheering was enough for me!

if you really want something, i've seen people order those little plastic bells that people ring or those plastic sticks with streamers for people to wave.

Our church won't let us throw anything either and I'm considering bubbles. I've heard it can stain the dress too, but after seeing it at a few weddings, I don't see how the bubbles will stain when they fly up into the air.

I was planning on doing petal cones, but I never thought about the church not allowing you...I better check that out! Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not... it doesn't seem necessary, it makes a mess... I was at a wedding a few weeks ago where they didn't, and it really didn't make a difference at all. In fact, it was nice to be able to just enjoy watching them walk out!

I am just having bubbles b/c my church is so strict. I didn't know about the staining.

considering where my church is at... i don't think we need anything else on the grown.. so nope.. i won't be having anything thrown at me. plus i'm getting maried in feb by the time i get out the church it will be dark and cold. i'm pretty sure everyone will be more interested in getting to their cars than standing around throwing flowers at me..

I'm not having anything thrown either. Our church is very strict about it and in the end we figured why bother.
