You should look into Eddie Terryn with Parameters. He doesn't have set packages, he works something out based on your needs and could be within your budget. His number is 516-485-4100.
We used QT Productions and they were great. It was around $600.
But, if you can't get out of it, you should definitely make them cut your bill BEFORE you pay.

I hope I'm not to late but I have two vendors that I'm very happy with that fall within your price range. DJ - Apple Entertainment (631) 864-4439 , I'm being charged $1400.00 which includes the cocktail hour. Photogragher - Daniel Kreiger (631)928-8417 ...he works out of his house so he can keep is prices low. My package, which includes album, 8x10's or 5x7's (you choose which you want) and thank you cards....plus he is with you all day....was $1399.00.
I found both vendors through friends who have used them at their weddings and were very pleased with their work.

I had a small wedding, 50 people (including vendors) I was hoping to have it under $15,000. But went double that. Once you add up the photographer, video, gifts for attendants, hair, honeymoon, rehearsal dinner, Ceremony music, DJ, tips, invitations and all the little things, there's no way out.
