Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

Hi I just wanted to know if anyone ordered their dress from Macys Bridal and their experience with them? I felt confident in ordering from them. My wedding is September 17th. I ordered the dress last year in October and was told the dresses usually take 5-6 months to make (my dress is by Sweetheart Gowns). So essentially 5-6 months is now. So I called and they told me the dress will be in by end of June. And that manufacturers go by the date they have as the wedding (we put August 17) to decide when to send out the dress. I called Sweetheart Gowns directly. They were very nice. The woman said not to worry, that they deal with Macy's all the time and Macy's probably told me June cause they dont want to hold the dress there for so long and that the dress will be nice and fresh for when I need it. What do you all think? I just though Macys had a good rep so I wanted to know other peoples experience.By the way I went to the one in Lake Grove (Suffolk County)

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

I don't want the vendors to leave this site. They are helpful. Never seen any other vendors have a problem!

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

I am using Macys too. My bridesmaids ordered their dresses last June - or so I thought. When I called in december to see about my out of town girls could get their dresses I found out they weren't ordered till September and they would be arrive in April. I called last week and was told the end of May. I was told they go into production 2 months before the wedding date. I am not thrilled about this, but the more I talk to people the more I find this is common. I am just glad I have my dress

Perhaps no other vendor has had such problems because nothing as touchy (controversal) had been addressed by a vendor.

Paula: Is this more common with Macys or all bridal places?

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

Heather:

I am finding it doesn't matter. It seems 5 weeks before the event the dresses come in. I wish I would have made a request that they be in earlier or gave a fake date. I told my girls who are out of state to look for a place to get fitted now and make an appointment or two for early June.

Vendors are more than welcome to give their advice. As a matter of fact, I appreciate it. But there is a difference between posting an opinion, and posting NUMEROUS defensive responses on that opinion.

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

Heather,

I also ordered my dress from Macy's bridal in Lake Grove. I ordered my dress (Mori Lee gown) this past September for my July 2, 2000 wedding. I just called them yesterday to find out the status and I was told that usually they (macy's) sets the wedding date one month ahead of what you give them and then the dress companies aim to have the dress to Macy's 2 months before the date they have. So my dress should be in in April for my July wedding. I wouldn't worry to much. I try to give them a call every month or so just to make sure that everything is still on schedule. Hope this helps.

Tanya

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

We ordered the bridemaid dresses at the Lake Grove Macy's. The service we received was terrible, that was in the beginning. The dresses took 6 months to arrive, ordered in August came in February for a May wedding.

My cousin used the Manhasset Macy's, I'm from out of town and I arrived 3 days prior to the wedding and they fitted me, I picked it up the day before.

I am really thankful for all the help and opinions I have gotten and even just from reading all of the posts and reading other peoples experiences. You guys have helped me more than you know!! I will continue to ask in the months ahead until the day of my wedding. :):):)

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

Hi Heather: My sister-in-law ordered from Macy's Smithaven and loved their service. I don't know if she had a delay at all. I ordered my original dress their (For a Winter Wedding) and I worked with Cynthia/Cindy? She is awesome, caring and i loved her. I changed my wedding to a spring (May). I am 2 months away from my wedding and I havr no gown for myself. Imagine that. I call every week. I love my bridal shop, but recently had a horrible experience of them not ordering a gown for me and trying to pass off the rack gown I tried on as a new gown. I'm still not panicking because I look at it this way. If they are so bad, why do they still have good reputations? right? I am starting to get a little nervous now, but sometimes I wish I stayed with Macy's. Their name is bigger more known. I must tell you this though. Macy's is not the bridal shop at any Macy's. They are a seperate company that works on it's own. My brother works at Macy's and tried to get my credit card credited back from the original 200 payment. They said they couldn't credit the Macy's card back becuase they are not Macy's, But I couldn't figure our why since they took a Macy's charge card for a deposit. Anyway, it worked out for me and my sister used the credit to get her gown for my wedding there. They were fine with this and very accomodating to us. Ask for Cynthia! She is wonderful. Good Luck

Your florist should also be able to help you in your search also, if not get them for you!

Good Luck!

I ordered from Manhasset as well. Sorry :) Don't be too concerned I have just been hearing and experiencing terrible things!! If you have anyquestions feel free to email me!

They have two rooms. Our room has a room max of 240, and we had to guarentee 150 min. I think the other room upstairs is a bit bigger.

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

Jessica,

How far in advance of your wedding did you actually receive your dress? I also ordered from the Manhasset store and it seems they are reluctant to give me an exact delivery date, which I think is a very bad sign...

We chose QT Productions, he is a really nice guy and he was referred by my cousins friend. He is on this site.

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

My wedding is in 11 days, and my first fitting was 2 weeks ago!!!! I ordered the dress January 1999!!! I know how I am, neurotic, and I need to have everything done way in advance!! Let's say Macy's didn't impress me much! Sorry for being such a downer!! I can't say Iw ould recommend them to anyone! I went there thinking of how reliable Macy's is a as a store, not realizing how different the bridal salon would be! Hey just be thankful we didn't order from Huntington!! They shut down and didn't tell anyone! My friend ordered from there!!

Brenda, who are you using as your photographer? We booked Doug at the Lindenhurst location.

I am so sorry, but don't worry, it seems like you still have time to fix it and everything will be fine.

Anyone order their dress from Macys Bridal?

Well, I guess I will just have to cross my fingers and keep on their case, then. On the bright side of things, though, at least you have your dress in time for your wedding! I've heard nightmare stories (some on this site) about much worse. I'm not saying their service (or lack thereof) is excusable, but at least you'll still be able to wear the dress you originally chose. Hope all goes well for you otherwise. Thanks for the heads up.

Lori, Are all the Patken locations affiliated? I have yet to meet them, and have heard the good things about Lindenhurst, but I was going to check out the Mineola location b/c it's closer to my hall. Thanks.

I guess there is mixed opinions on every place. Whoever said , at least you get the same dress you ordered is at least right about that :) I will probably call Macys and make sure they didnt change the date I am supposed to be getting it. As of last time I called (March 23) they said I should get it end of June. That is what I think I mentioned in my first posting. I wonder if now is too soon to call them again and check up on things. And I dont want to get worked up cause I know that there always has to be a bad experience with every place. BTW I got mine at Smithhaven mall and was so happy with the service when I got it that day

She also did something cool which was Shower BIngo...it seemed to be a big hit and cut the monotony of opening the presents...you never saw so many women get excited over a coffee maker!!!

Macys Bridal- I called Them

I called the woman there and she was very nice. I still got told the same delivery date and spoke to her about a few things. Hopefully I wont be disappointed. For those of you who didn't get their dress yet, who did you go about ordering the shoes and the veil? My dress is pale ivory so I would have to match things up somehow

Macys Bridal- I called Them

Hi Heather: There is a store in Patchogue called Casa Di Marino on Main Street that has a huge selection of shoes. Several girlfriends of mine have gotten their shoes there, myself too. Nice people. I ordered my veil at Patchogue Floral/Fantasy Land. I recevied it 2 weeks ago and I love it; so does everyone else. One of my friends my be borrowing it for her wedding in June. They will do any color for you. I paid $116.00 vs. 279.00 that my bridal shop wanted.
