That's the whole reason why we are waiting until 2009. There is a lot of money to be saved between the hall, photos, video, flowers, dress, favors, etc. I wish we had help paying for it. But, then again, I think it will be nice to have all the control over our wedding. And, it's a huge accomplishment.

yeah its good to set a budget beforehand, so this way you can see how much you can allocate for everything...what the max is for Rh, vendors, dress, misc

I calculated how much money fh and i will make until our wedding subtracted how much each month we have to give for other expenses and then what were left with is what we can actually spend without worrying

We are just taking it ones step at a time, it is a lot of money. But if you do it smart, like planning it 2 years in advance you will be just fine!!!! You have to have fun planning a wedding, not stressing over the money.

I started looking at the amounts & thought but it's what I want & it's spaced out so we can make the payments. If things go the wawy we plan we'll close on a house & do the wedding in the same year. (fingers crossed)

I'm so worried about the $ I have been so good, BUT this month I saved almost nothing. And the next few weeks doesn't look good. To many b-day's, graduation, and weddings to go to. This summer is going to be hard to save. I'm going nuts, so me and the FH fight about it. I hate it I hope we hit the lotto.

You know what really worries me - not the price of the wedding, FH and I have it all planned out, Finding a place to live and furnishing it, is what worries me!

Re: Anyone panicing over...

Jen, I panic everyday about how we're gonna pay for the wedding! lol We came up with a realistic plan for ourselves. A bunch of people told me that a good way to estimate the total cost of the wedding will be to take the cost of the reception hall and double that....this will be your rough estimate of the total cost including photographers, flowers, etc. So we did that and were mortified at the number we came to! BUT working with this number and taking into account what our parents' will be able to help out with, we figured out an amount that each of us will put away each month and stick to it no matter what. So far so good and we have a good chunk saved up and its only been 5 months!
