i never read the book but someone i know who did read it told me that it encourages starving yourself and its like an anorexics handbook i dont know - i never read it but ive heard its pretty extreme

I would never read a book that tries to make me ashamed for who I am....

And for those who don't know, the book is a vegan manuscript...but not vegan for helping the earth, saving animals...no, for the good cause of being skinny.

And I am a vegetarian.

i heard it encourages being really really skinny and its brainwashing and says you should not be 'fat' like the people who eat meat and blah blah - but this is what ive heard i never actually read the book so i dont know what it says...a friend of mine told me her friends read it and stopped eating cheeseburgers and fries and they only eat salads and check the book to see what they are allowed to eat because they want to be really skinny i dont know i think thats stupid - i mean dont get me wrong im skinny and want to stay this way but ill never be able to resist a cheeseburger, chicken fingers and fries b/c a book told me i shouldnt eat it b/c im 'disgusting' for eating it - thats the impresion i got when hearing about the book

I actually didn't feel that way from the book at all. I think with anything you take what is good from it and take it for what its worth. Some of the info was good and some I didn't care for...but no it didn't make me want to be anorexic lol

and they even say at the end how most of the book is a joke...its funny and not meant to be taken that serious

Re: Anyone read...

The book is actually a load of crap. BIL's girlfriend is friends with the writers (she's in the 'thank you' in the front of the book). I bought it before I knew that and she saw me with it and she was like, I wish you would have told me you wanted to read it and I would have told you don't bother. The girls who wrote it are passionate vegans and hard-core animal activists (which is fine) but it's just about pushing their agenda and she said they did practically zero research, most of their quotes and 'back-up' comes from the propaganda they read so they're just regurgitating it to add fuel to rtheir cause. So take from it what you want, but just know that it's mostly crap.

That said, it's still kinda funny.

It's a fun read, alot of what they say is true about meat and such, but its not meant to be taken literally.... people that 'turn anorexic' from reading this book were destined for that well in advance of reading it. JMO

Thanks! He's a mini, and he's pretty small. no more than 8 1/2 lbs. He just turned 2. But he's really athletic, and doesnt eat table food. That's how he keeps his 'svelte' figure!! lol.
