anyone recommend wedding halls?

Original post by FutureSMwifey

Hi everyone! I just got engaged on wednesday! My FIANCE and I are looking for wedding halls....we looked at Windows on the Lake and have appointments with Woodbury Country Club, Westbury Mannor, North Ritz Club, Sandcastle and Venetian Yacht Club. ANyone know of any others they really like or have any opinions on those?

Welcome and congrats!!

I am biased toward Westbury Manor The place is beautiful, the people are so easy and nice to work with, and the food is delicious!

I didn't visit Woodbury Country Club but FH has been to a wedding there and said it was VERY nice - atmosphere, food, everything!

Good luck!

I am pretty flexible. We just started our search. We are looking to get married Sept-Nov 2009. I would love to be the only wedding but I am not open to 2. Our invite will probably be around 200 people. We are also looking to get married there ...indoors or outdoors depending on the month. I would get married in november and have an indoor ceremony if the hall has a beautiful indoor ceremony room.

We are going to Woodbury CC and North Ritz today. I checked out the Chateau Del Mar website and it looks beautiful so going to try and get an appointment there.

THIS IS SO EXCITING!
thanks for all the advice

I think you will love North Ritz then! The indoor ceremony room was our favorite of everywhere we looked (after booking, we decided to get married in a church for a bunch of different reasons). I also know plenty of people that have had absolutely gorgeous affairs at WCC, and their setup is beautiful. You may also want to check out Swan Club!

Congrats and welcome!!!

Of the venues you already have appointments for, I would recommend Venetian. They were our choice number two, and can definitely accomodate your invite list.

But I'm partial to Villa Lombardi's, naturally. Both these places are two-wedding venues, so if you want a one wedding venue, check out Lombardi's on the Sound. You still get the great food, but the decor isn't as...ethnic. It doesn't bother me because I'm a little g-princess, but I've heard that it bothers some other girls sometimes.

Vineyard Caters! (But you HAVE to go there in person! - the website pictures are horrible... lol)
Also, Lombardi's on the Sound is pretty...as well as Westbury Manor.
Carlyle on the Green is amazing...but $$$.
Good Luck!!!

Re: anyone recommend wedding halls?

Congrats!!!! When i first got engaged, I got a long island weddings magazine (free) at CVS. It had a listing by county of all the RH.
Make a list of places you are interested in and go check them out!

It's a little overwhelming at how many places are out there!!!
Find a 'type' of venue you want, then you can narrow it down!

But, if you want near the water. Land's End!
