Is anyone selling (or has anyone already sold) their dress after the wedding?
I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I'm considering it..only because we're broke and can use every bit of money we can get once the wedding is over. I'm just afraid I'd regret it afterwards, even though it would probably just end up sitting in a box somewhere int he basement for ever.
What are your thoughts on this?

Re: Anyone Selling Their Dress After Their Wedding?
I am going to sell my dress. I am not the type of person that keeps momentos other than pictures. I totally understand why people do keep their dresses, I just can't see myself keeping mine.

Why not? How often you will look at your dress after the wedding? Mostlikely you will put it in the box and hide it somewhere in your closet and never take it out again. If you can sell it for a good price, why not?

I am one of those sentimental people, but I am probably going to sell my dress afterwards. (FH is already planning how he can sell it and my Chinese gown too!) I figure it will just sit around...if it is preserved you can't even take it out or touch it...and I am not going to kid myself into thinking my daughter would want my dress for her wedding (if I have any kids).
I will always have the pictures....

Re: Anyone Selling Their Dress After Their Wedding?
i will be preserving the dress and veil - and getting it 're preserved' every three years. i know it sounds silly to some people BUT if my mom had preserved HER dress I would have worn it so I want to save it for my daughters. . . even if they don't wear it just to see it in person. . .

I tried to sell my dress a few times but haven't had any luck. I would rather someone else get to use it then keep it in a box. IF anyone is interested my dress is in my album. FM me!!

I could never sell my dress. Maybe my kids might not want to wear it, but its still something very important to me, because its something my mom and I did together, and I will always be able to look at the dress and remember how she helped with the whole wedding day. sometimes pictures don't do it justice. IMO

Re: Anyone Selling Their Dress After Their Wedding?
Wow, good to know I'm not crazy for thinking of selling it! Of course, I might change my mind after wearing it, but seriously, I know if I don't sell it, it will probably just get lost among one of the hundreds of boxes in our basement, and its not like I would be bale to open the box up and look at it whenever I want. I think I'll just make sure to get tons of pics of the dress and that will be good enough. Thanks!

People seeing it in person...that's a really good point. Now i am confused. I think I'll just wait until after my wedding and decide.

I'm keeping mine too. I'm not going to get it preserved but I will keep it in my closet in a garment bag. I just don't want to let go of it!
