Re: Anyone spending less than $2500 for Photography?
I just dont get it. I mean what makes 'one' so much more special than the other that they have the right to charge so much?. We like the 'magazine' style photo album...but to save $1000+ would be beneficial....its either Kitchen appliance or Photo album?
Also, are you having one photographer or two. Why do they charge extra for two---one for one thing and then having the extra guy for candids? Can't one guy do both??
This is by far the hardest decision I think?

Re: Anyone spending less than $2500 for Photography?
I refuse to spend more than $1000. I am probably going to be using one of my sister's friends. He just graduated with a degree in Photography and he used to work with a wedding photographer. If that doesn't pan through, my fiance has mentioned a website where people barter services. He designs T-shirts so he was thinking he could make T-shirts for someone that would volunteer to be our photographer. We still might have to pay something, but it would save money. (We booked our DJ, and he is making T-shirts for that company.) I know I might be taking a risk with the picture thing, but I am willing to take that risk. I care more about saving money.

Sorry...just an afterthought..I also read somewhere that if you use a professional photographer, but not a specific wedding photograper, you can save a ton of money.

Yeah I was shocked at some of the prices too - I haven't seen any packages for less than $2500 - and I've been to about 6 places so far.

Re: Anyone spending less than $2500 for Photography?
Ok now I'm getting really scared..... We're having a really small wedding only about 60 pp... and I don't want to spend a lot on everything else.... especially not half the reception cost for a photographer. This wedding thing is scaring my bank account broke. Sorry for the ramble a little tired and stressed.

I konw it's crazy! we're spending about $3400. But I figured that the one thing you will have (besides Hubby!) after the day is over to remember it, is the photo's/videos... so we are doing it. BUT we did custimize (sp?) our own package, with smaller parent albums, go get it as reasonable as possible.
