Yup. It's that time of year to start resumes for teaching again. I see some openings and hope maybe this year will be the lucky one!!! Just wishing for my own classroom for a change.

Re: Anyone start resumes?
If anyone needs a TA position. I think Island Park is still looking. I loved working there. Good pay, full benefits, and lots of other ways to make $$ . And they treat TA's like tachers. FM for more info

Re: Anyone start resumes?
blah, don't remind me. I HATE job searching.
I got a position for this year, but it was only a one-year leave replacement, so I have to start looking again. I don't know how the h#ll I'm supposed to go interviewing when I have a full classload and I'm trying to impress the district with my spotless attendance record so they'll hire me again for next year!

Re: Anyone start resumes?
Ladies that are looking... I would honestly look for something in the city... it's really not that bad. there are some really nice schools in the city. Districts onl LI typically hire people with city experience rather than people that were just TAs or subs.... and unfortunately, a lot of the districts don't hire their own TAs or subs... dont' ask me why, but they don't :(
also, talk to people you know that are in districts... my district always asks the staff first if they can recommend someone and then they post....
start looking in the times NOW.... they post once and then they stop... my district is hiring this year

If you are permanantly certified you should apply for your indendent providers license through the department of Health. Then you can provide EI too! If you do ABA, most agencies will take you!
