I left my house at 5:30 am, and left work at 3:30 and it was still partially closed. Luckily I dont need to get on the bridge, but just wondering if anyone here was unfortunate enough to leave for work and get stuck there all day.

there was a fire on the bridge and at one point it was closed both ways , upper and lower level!!

At 5:30 this morning, it was something like a 12 mile backup, estimated at least a 4 hour delay. I feel bad for those who were stuck there! As a result everyone who was coming home in the afternoon decided to take the Verazanno, so the belt, van wyck became a nightmare!
