Anyone surprising their FH with.....

A groom's cake at the RD? I'm thinking about getting a cake that looks like our black lab since I think he is pretty bummed (the FI, not the dog that is! :-)) that he's poor little puppy will be at the kennel for 12 nights. Do you think that sounds cheesy or silly??

I think it sounds awesome!!!! So much of the wedding planning is focused around the bride, I think anything done for the groom is great!!

For our engagment party I made chocolate lollipops for the favors in the shape of Starwars characters. Even my FMIL commented how nice it was to incorporate Bob's hobbies into everything.

I would absolutely LOVE to find a baker than can make him a cake shaped like a Music Man guitar, and painted with the Van Halen stripes. LOL.

nope, I won't be doing that.. it's a cute idea, but he is soo involved in this whole wedding that he doesn't even want any of that..

I have a little surprise of my own for him at theend of the night,..

Yes I am. It is a replica of Fenway Park- rolled white choclate fondant, white cake with apple filling.

I am using Michele, the owner of www.justincakes.com
She also did my bridal shower mini-cakes, which are featured on her homepage.
She has been great to work with. I will make sure to post photos and a review of the cake. But my mini-cakes were great. My sister and I also took a cake decorating class with Michele.

E-mail Michele and ask her. If you have an image or photo include that with the e-mail. She doesn't have a Fenway Park mold. She is creating the cake from photos.

Are these cakes really expensive? He LOVES mustangs and I would love to surprise him at the RD, but if I spent a lot on it he would kill me!!

I did, too!!! He was soooo surprised!! He loves to fish so my cake had a boat w/ a bride and groom in it (w/ our features)

The groom had a fishing rod...so cute!!! The baker had fish leaping out of the 'water' on the sides of the cake. It tasted yummy, too!

It was a big hit and only $65!

A lot of bakeries now screen the pictures on. I am going to get my FH a cake for his 3rd bday.... with a baby picture of him on it... his mom went into labor for his 3rd bday and his younger brother was born. He keeps saying he was deprived of a third b day cake. My FH is in love with the General Lee! I thought I was the only one who had a Fh who loved that car, it is nice to know I am not alone. A few years ago at the Auto show at the Coliseum they had the General Lee there , I had to drag him out of there, I felt like I had a child!
