Anyone taking out wedding insurance?

If so, where did you buy it, and how much is the average cost? What exactly does it cover? Thanks!

Anyone taking out wedding insurance?

I bought insurance from wedsafe. I also looked into Fireman's insurance. Wedsafe was cheaper than Fireman's but Fireman's seemed a little more detail. I went with Wedsafe just figuring it will cover the basics.

Small change of topic-- ring insurance

You can get a rider on your homeowner's or renter's policy. My fiancee took care of it, so I'm not sure how much it costs.

We have ours through Geico, but it is actually a Travelers policy. You can insure it through any company that does renters/home owners incurance.

Small change of topic-- ring insurance

I have my ring covered under my homeowner's insurance. It's actually expensive to cover jewelry, since there is a chance it could get stolen or lost (unlike something else that just sits in your home) But it's definitely well worth it, IMHO. Anyone else taking out insurance for the wedding day??

Chubb Insurance ?

What kind of prices were you given by Chubb? we just got our homeowners thru state farm and was going to do my ring as well( yes we are horrible I have had my engagement ring since feb 99 with no insurance and now a wedding band for 8 months) we were originally told 20 per $1000 but now state farm told us $127 a year--which is better because it would have been over $200 --so any help would be great Thanks Laura

Should I insure it?

Does everyone think the insurance is absolutely worth it? I don't have any other kind of insurance plan to attach it onto so I haven't insured my ring yet and reading all of these messages, I think it will cost me over $300/yr. It just seems like a lot of money year after year.

its worth it to me

I feel much better knowing that if anything happens I can replace the ring at no cost to us. With Chubbs, I can have the exact ring made again.

Insurance tip from my jeweler...

She told us to be sure and have it re-appraised and then up the insurance every 2-3 years. Since the price of diamonds always goes up, it will be impossible to get the same stone for what it's currently appraised for 10 years from now.

Definitely do it!!

I can tell you from experience that it is worth it. My diamond fell out of my ring the other week. Thank goodness I was at home and I heard it hit the floor. But had I been out someplace, I might not have found it. The peace of mind I have in case it ever happens again makes it totally worth it!

Anyone taking out wedding insurance?

I have Chubb...its a bit more pricey...but worth it. According to my agent, he says that they are the only plan that provides what you want... Don''''''''t have the number on me but my agent''''''''s name is Arthur Chernick and he''''''''s in Manhattan...

Definitely do it!! Read the policy very carefully!

I know one lady who lost the center stone in her ring and the insurer did not cover it because her policy covered only the lose of the entire ring. Make sure you know exactly what coverage you are buying.

About 6 months ago i once again lectured my mom about insuring her ring--they bought it upteens years ago for $1000-- it was appraised for over $20K-- to make a very sad long story short--she lost it--after wearing it since 1963-- so yes yes yes get it insured-- Laura

Chubb's also

My fiancé pays around $380 a year, which covers $16,500. He chose Chubb and was impressed with them. My fi said not many others insure rings unless you have renter's insurance-which we don't. This plan covers everything. TIP: We didn't make our payment all at once-but we should of b/c there is a service charge of $10 each time you pay the min. amount.
