anyone throwing their garter or bouquet at the reception?
Original post by M&LSept1606
repost from BHB.
was just curious.
I always thought it was fun, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as it used to be.
Any new ideas?

Yes, I am definatly planning on doing the throwing of the garter and bonquet. My three sisters all did and I really liked it.

I think we're going to do both...even if it's so embrassing and unnecessary

We'll be doing both. We're both very into traditions!
I am going to have the MC make a request tho....ONLY having those 18-45 come up. Not that I want to discriminate, but I have been to weddings with kids, I'm talking 8-9 year olds trying to catch them. Come on now...get real! And also, my MOH's mom caught the bo-k at my MOH's neice's wedding. Yes, Gramma caught the bo-k! They made her give it to another girl tho, the and were only 18 so there were pleny of YOUNG ladies there.

We are not doing either. I am planning on having a special dance of some sort (not sure what yet).

we are not doing the BOK toss bc we do not have many single people attending our wedding....I think FH is going to do the garter though bc I am doing a special Yankee garter for him!
We are going to do an anniversary dance I believe

I am going to do the anniversary dance instead-- all married couples come up and they dance -- the mc will gradually ask them to step off the dance floor in order of the # of years they were married-- the least first. THe couple that has been married the longest gets 'the bouquet' -- but I will give them a gift, not my bouquet-- like a dinner gc or something.
