ANYONE USE SHERWOOD PHOTOGRAPHY?

I am hoping to use them for my wedding beccuase I absolutely love them. But right now it's coming down to money and you get what you pay for, they are a little high for me. But they are the best

OUR WEDDING IS AT WESTBURY MANOR.. WE WENT TO THE BRIDAL SHOW YESTERDAY AND SPOKE TO THE SAME GUY I THINK HIS NAME WAS DAN-- TURNS OUT HES THE PERSONALITY WE LIKED AND CHOSE TO MEET WITH THEM, BUT WHEN WE SPOKE WITH HIM IT TURNS OUT HE DOESNT LEAVE THE STUDIO WE FIGURE WELL STILL GO AND SEE THE PRICES... THEY DO LOOK PRICEY BUT THEIRS WERE THE ONLY ONE I SAW AT THE SHOW I LIKED... BUT MY SIS AND FSIL BOTH USED PATON SO I MIGHT CHECK THEM OUT ALSO.. THEY DID A GREAT JOB ALSO.

We Met with them, and I urge anyone NOT to book with them because they don't know how to conduct business ethically.

I'm using them!! I've had 3 friends use them & I LOVED their albums. I know they weren't the cheapest but I'm glad we picked them!! I've called with a million questions all over a year before the date & they are always willing to answer my questions & talk to me for as long as I need. You should check out SteffieSunshine1's review on the review board - she raved about her pictures!

One of my friends used them about 3 years ago and her pictures are incredible. Her reception was at Westbury Manor.

They are pricey, but very very good.

CCiurro is your cousins name Kevin? I booked Sherwood Triart awhile ago for my
wedding. Kevin helped us and we booked them. He was great!! At the time he was planning his wedding.

They are quite pricey but I heard they do wonderful work and I am sure that we will
be very happy with them. Chateau Briand where I am getting married highly recommended them.

I used Sherwood and I have the most beautiful pictures!!! Earl & Dana shot my wedding, and were EXTREMELY well organized, easy to work with and professional.

The end product speaks for itself, and I promise to have some pictures scanned by the end of the week.

As for the suggestion by someone here not to book with them...she didn't use them, she met with them once, so she really should just concern herself with giving advice on vendors she has used in the past or are currently working with. Just because a vendor makes a statement you feel was 'insensitive' isn't a reason to 'CAUTION' other brides against them.

I've had so many brides FM who have booked already with them who are now nervous because of this one poster who takes every opportunity to bad mouth Sherwood Triart. I just assure them that my wedding day was perfect, my experience with them was very pleasant, my pictures are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone and to remember that this poster isn't telling you about how Sherwood ruined her wedding day or took horrible pictures, but is just upset because they made what she felt was an insensitive remark...she really isn't justified telling anyone not to book with them.

Good luck to anyone who has booked them...you will be very happy with your decision!

A caveat to any advice on any board is to always read for suggestions but make your own decisions. You will always find people who love a vendor and those who hate them, its a fact of life.
A very good friend of mine used Sherwood and was disappointed. I'm not saying this to make anyone nervous or regret booking them, but just to reiterate to EVERYONE to be very specific with ANY photographer or vendor about what you want, don't expect them to know AND make sure that if you're using a large studio like this that you meet with THE person who will be at your wedding that day taking the pictures and make sure you see HIS/HER work rather than the collection of the studios' best stuff. AND if on the wedding day you're uncomfortable with the way things are going, make sure you say something, don't let it go b/c you'll never get another chance at the pictures.

VERY well said, and smart advice.

I made all my own decisions, but did get some great feedback on many vendors. For every vendor you will find someone who doesn't like them. But I think the feedback should have some substance, like WORK PRODUCT...not hurt feelings.

I was kept in waiting rooms too long...pitched to by very unenthusiastic reps for some vendors, but I don't bad mouth those vendors because in the end, my opinion isn't based on their work.

I just think if you constantly want to bad mouth one particular vendor, you should have an actual reason that could possibly affect others.

And remember to check the NY Better Business Bureau...some photographers have as many as 5 complaints against them....that's a REAL reason NOT TO CONSIDER USING SOMEONE!!!

i just read this (sorry I didn't respond sooner). Yes, my cousin is Kevin. His wedding video and pictures came out beautiful (I was in the wedding). He shows everyone his album when they come it. He is the sweetest.

That is something. What a small world. I hope that Kevin is enjoying
married life. I will be going real soon to Sherwood to discuss
our wedding day and final payments. Is Kevin still working there?

When we were planning our wedding, my husband and I met with a lot of vendors. There were some that we were put off by when we met them, whether it be something they said, did, or whatever. We refused to book anyone we felt we did not connect with (except for the limos...and that was our only problem ) The vendors we did chose we liked as people, and we liked their work as well!

When someone asks about a vendor that I met with, I feel comfortable telling my experiences, good or bad, whether or not I booked them. I don't' think you need to have used a vendor to make a comment about them. And I think every bride on here has the right to voice her opinions, and if they want to warn you from using someone because of their personal experience......so be it - it's their right.

Whether or not you agree with their assessment of the vendor is irrelevant!

What about the fact that someones 'experience' with that vendor seems to have gotten worse & more negatively detailed as time has gone on??? I have the original email about this 'experience' with the vendor and it has mysteriously gotten MUCH WORSE now that 1 year has gone by. (I'm sure the poster would just say she left out some of the story, but if you were really trying to 'warn' someone, wouldn't you tell them every detail about what that vendor said or did to make you feel the need to bash them without being asked for your opinion????)

First it's one comment they made...next thing you know...they can write a paragraph on the MANY terrible things the vendor did and said.

The reason I find this unfair is because when brides begin to harp on one situation against a vendor & then begin to exaggerate the details over the months, they worry the brides who have already signed a contract for several thousands of dollars and probably are already second guessing their choice of vendor (as we ALL do anyway, on all our vendors) My point is, say it once & drop it!!! Don't let a bride who has chosen a certain vendor have to hear your negative comments time & time again, especially, again, when its not based on their work product.

Again, I have had many brides FM me in a panic because any time Sherwood is mentioned or photographers are asked for, this person will immediately say 'oh, they did such a terrible thing, FM me for details' or will FM the bride without being asked for their opinion, as she did to me...sending me an unsolicited email when I mentioned I booked them. (Panicking me because I had already signed a contract)

I have nothing against sharing your opinions, but when you say 'I URGE ANYONE NOT TO BOOK THEM', it's the same as saying 'WARNING' or 'DON'T USE THEM' which is not right.

That's just my opinion. I'm sure it won't be popular... but at least it's honest
