Re: ANYONE USE SHERWOOD PHOTOGRAPHY?

I think that we, as brides on this forum, give each other too much credit, and need to stand by our decisions. If you ask for an opinion, you need to realize that you will get good and bad, and you have to take it with a grain of salt. I heard terrible things about some of my vendors, but I booked themfor a reason, and when my wedding was over with, I was pleased with my choices. Because I trusted my own judgement.

If you have a bad experience with someone, you should be allowed to post it, whenever your opinion is asked for and you feel like sharing it.

I had to deal with a lot of people who said negative things about some of my vendors...but I knew that I booked them for a reason and I realized that not everyone would have the same opinion as I did. I took offense when people judged me for saying positive things about those vendors, and accused me of taking bribes from some of them even.

We all have to remember that these are OUR decisions. We can ask all the questions we want from each other, but we have to remember that no one else is going to have the same experience as us.....some may be good, some may be bad. And we all have the right to post our thoughts and opinions, without being judged harshly by others.

Listen to the good, listen to the bad, and then make your own decision...that's all I'm saying

Steffie, I'm sorry but I don't understand the need for such long and detailed pleas to ignore the 'person' who had a negative experience with this vendor. Her experience was bad enough that she wouldn't book them and brides should absolutely keep that in mind when they meet with this and any vendor - and then judge for themselves. There is nothing 'unfair' about her explanation becoming more detailed over time. Maybe she didn't want to divulge the full story initially? What's so wrong about that? This website is a tool for gathering information. We should not just be wandering about like mindless saps blindly accepting what is fed to us here (or anywhere!) - we should be making informed decisions.

One of my girlfriends and I used the exact same florist. We both had said florist decorate cakes for us. She loved hers, I hated mine. Same vendor, different experience. Is she wrong for loving hers? No! I know I'm not wrong for hating mine and I dare anyone to tell me I should be!

My point is you had a great experience with Sherwood. Yay for you. They treated you with the respect you deserved and delivered a product you are extrememly happy with. They didn't do that for this 'other' person. She has the right to share just the same, and feel the way she feels about it. I don't think you're being fair to her in your responses. It seems to me that you are trying to discredit her, instead of encouraging people to take the good with the bad and decide for themselves.

Re: ANYONE USE SHERWOOD PHOTOGRAPHY?

I just posted this as a reply on the 'Just a few thoughts, long, but bear with me...' Princess Rose thread in which the SAME issue is being discussed. I think Steffie has a point.

In going back and doing a search on past posts about this particular vendor, it seems you have been angrily FMing everyone who has even a remote interest in using them, and even girls who have already paid a deposit to use them.

You had a legitimately bad experience, and you were hurt by it. This is understandable, given the fact that it all had to do with a very emotional topic:your father.

However, I do have to say that I think there is a fine line between informing brides of an ethically questionable vendor, and trying angrily and desperately to put a vendor out of business because they hurt you. The question is: How long will you continue to FM people about this vendor? Until you feel as if you have gotten revenge on him? I hate to analyze - but it seems your secondary concern is to warn brides, the primary to seek some relief for the pain he caused you.

There is a point where you have to let things go or they will eat away at you.

The vendor in question will suffer from his own actions eventually.

i had bad experiences with vendors over a year ago and i still remember them and tell people about them when asked.....since when did we put a time limit on the legitimacy of our experiences?

I also agree with Bunny. If someone is FMing Brides who already booked this vendor, that is not right either. I booked this photographer and I am very confident in my decision but it would have made me uncomfortable to have someone approach me after and tell me that I made a mistake---Unless I am misunderstanding the situation. I think that we should post any bad reviews of vendors but we should not give out additional information unless it is asked for.

Bottomline is everyone should agree to disagree and that should be it.

Great point palebride, by the key is: You tell people when they ask! If what is said is true, she is emailing people who have already booked the photographer to tell them her story. That's where the problem lies. I think sharing a legitimate experience with anyone (even years after the wedding, if it comes up) is absolutely pertinant. But to angrily bash the vendor to brides who don't ask is absolutely wrong IMO.

Foxhollowbride has it: Agree to disagree on this one!

I agree, if someone wants to know more 'bad info' on a certain vendor, then email the person directly, not everyone likes to post all things whether good or bad, and if the post is vague then email that person for more of a detailed story........What is the big deal here? There are no rules or regulations to this posting board......anyone and everyone can write what they want, detailed or not, so stop w/ the criticism.....its unnecessary......These Are just opinion posts........not Homework!!!!!
