Anyone using a DJ for ceremony music?

Anyone using a DJ for ceremony music?

FI & I wanted strings for some of our music but we also wanted a solo (involves a male tennor & female soprano) for the candle lighting and a solo for the recessonal.

Unless we book a string quartet, 2 soloists & a pianist it won't work & that would be $$$$$$. Someone suggested using the DJ for just the 2 solos & strings for everything else? Anyone heard how this sounds - possibly at a garden wedding?

TIA!!

I am using my DJ for the ceremony, which hopefully will be outside for the ceremony pending the weather. I think it will sound fine, ask your dj what they do for outside weddings, that's what I did

I am going to use my DJ for the ceremony music as well.. I say go for it, ask your dj if he/she has any examples of how it sounds, a lot of them have videos you can see them in action.. GL

No, we are using a boombox and the CD I've burned for the wedding ceremony. Also my best friend is singing at my wedding.
