Read a review of someone who had a percussionist with their DJ - Anyone go to a wedding with this - let me know what you thought.

I had one and it was a huge hit! My guests loved it and it was such a nice touch...especially when he did his 'solos'...HUGE deal for my Spanish guests (nothing better than percussions to go with salsa! )

I've been to a wedding and they had a percussionist. Honestly, I didn't think it was necessary. I also didn't think the percussionist added to anything. That's JMHO.

Maxine (Soon2BMsZ) had a percussionist at her wedding and we loved it so much. I had never seen that before and it really added so much more to the music. My FH loved him so much we booked him for our wedding.
ETA: At one point the bongos came onto the dance floor and Maxine was playing them. It was so cool!

We are having one along with the DJ. It just adds to the overall live feel that we could not afford with a band!

My friend had one and I thought it was a really nice touch. Sometimes you didn't even notice him, but in certain sings he definitley added a little something special.

I'm glad you guys loved it that much!!
I originally wanted a band but DH was against it so I had to have SOME live music!!! I saw a video with the percussionist and knew I HAD to book it!!! I was also going to get a Sax but got some negative feedback from family members about it being too loud... not going with some of the music, etc. so we decided to only get the percussion.
ETA. If you look in my review you can see pictures of when they were put out on the dance floor... I played them, my DH played them and even his very conservative mom got on the dance floor!!! It made for some really great pics!
I am having a percussionist bc it adds a live feel and my FH is Spanish and his family will really appreciate it.

We are having a percussionist and a Sax player. We heard them at a wedding show and loved them. Our wedding song is by Billy Joel, so I am looking forward to hearing it with the drums and the sax player.
