Anyone using placecard holders????

This seems to be an item that gets little fanfare on the boards. While finalizing my deposit details at the hall, I arrived at the beginning of a wedding and noticed that my hall put small tentfold placecards on a table for guests with their names handwritten. I thought to myself 'how tacky' (mainly tacky bcuz they were sloppily handwritten) and made a huge mental note to do otherwise for my wedding...such as have mine printed and held up by placecard holders. The only thing, so far, that slightly caught my eye was the pewter chairs. Did anyone use placecard holders and if so...what kind.

I'm using Lenox frames. But I don't think it's tacky to use the fold over ones with no holder. I've seen it done beautifully by a lot of people.

Someone just posted their DIY projects with a wine theme and is using corks as holders which looks really cool!

The corks are very unique! What a great idea and so inexpensive! Good thinking!
What else can we use that is inexpensive?
