Anyone using the Hilton in Huntington for guests or wedding night??

I've read several comments about this place and I am really unsure. Any comments good or bad are appreciated.

I booked a block of rooms for my guests. It was the nicest place I could find for a reasonable rate. Everything went smoothly with the reservations, and I have no complaints.

Valenia, did you stay there before or after your wedding?? If you remember the room rate can you tell me, you can FM me if you'd like. Thanks for the info.

the reservations and rates were fine...I was VERY disappointed on our treatment when we came in after our wedding...no congratulations...nothing...

the brunch we paid to have catered for guests...was cold the next morning

Its probably the only thing I would have done differently on my wedding day...although we weren't in there that long...

Yabbobay, any thoughts on were else you would have gone instead of the Hilton???

we picked the hilton, b/c it was in between my family and DH's family...it was not near the hall (lands End)

I would have gone to the Wyndham Windwatch...(i think thats what it was) in happuage

other than that there is the fow hollow and a few others on jericho trpke

my sister used old country inn (something like that) on jericho in Huntington...they were disorganized...and a guest commented that the coffee was horrible...

edited to say: I don't mean to scare you off...it wasn't horrible...but the wedding went so well that this was the only 'bad' part...and it wasn't that bad...it just didn't match up to the wonderful day we had...

You're not scaring me off. I really want to hear this. I'm considering them because they are close to the Carlyle on the Green where my reception will be but, I don't want to have a 'bad' experience there. I've been to the Garden City Hotel and although it is a beautiful place it was not worth the money. I've only been to the Marriot for business so don't know much about them and their room rate is about 50-60 dollars more a night for a double room.Yet they are in the same area.

Jennbaby, would you mind if I come and stay with you...ahh, come on, I'll be quiet, you won't even notice I'm there.

I didn't stay there myself. My hubby and I went to the Inn at Fox Hollow, which is a 10 minute drive from the Carlyle and was very nice. Our out of town guests stayed at the Hilton for a rate of $129.

I posted a while back about my experience at the Hilton on my wedding night. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Gee, after reading that thread I think I should look into another place.
Jennbaby, maybe you should give the manager a call before you get there.
