anyone want to join a 'almost the big day exercise thread?'
Original post by portjeffbride
ok, it's 45 days away for me, and my arms still look I've lost my motivation to lose weight at totally the wrong time!
FH encouraged me to return to my former ways and exercise everyday and cut down on carbs a bit... it's 45 days and I can do it! It would be amazing if I could lose about 7 lbs before the big day...
anyone want to join an exercise support thread?
what we'll do: why don't we report in to this thread EVERYDAY with our triumphs (exercising, stuck to diet), and our mishaps (eating cheese fries, not exercising...) That way we can pull each other up when we begin to slide.....

Re: anyone want to join a 'almost the big day exercise thread?'
I never knew about excercise on demand. I am so going to do this. I workout in the am but want to step it up and do something more. In the pm after work I'm so tired, but I could do the excercise while cooking, that would work.
I have to echo the right carb thing. I totally go all brown. I do wheat pancakes, wheat pasta, wheat bread, brown eggs, no white potatoes or anything else for that matter. Severly limit the amount you eat. Instead of three normal size meals, try five snacks instead. It really revs up your metabolism and you are never hungry. Now its also good to snack up on fruit. I bring at least five fruits a day and much on those. And last my favs or pecan sandies 100 calorie pack for snack. mmmmmmm.

Well maybe if we all post tips and such to inspire each other. I did WW a while back and I was alway so up to date on the newest diet friendly foods.
We can also post workouts that we have done and have seen results.
Just a thought.

I love htis thread!... I actually really MISS working out..with working and going straight to school at night, the schedule is killing me wtih no time to work out!!! So i just need to graduate n get it out of the way(june 12) and work out like an animal after that! i would definetlyu suggest to find something u like, like a class or a video...something that u ENJOY! ...and believe me there is somehting for everyone!...i absoluteluy LOVE kickboxing, but had to give the classes up bc of time n money! (actually $115 per month!!!...cant handle that when i want chair covers n ohter things at the wedding!!! )
but my birthday is in july so maybe someone will give me a month as a gift!!! (keep ur fingers crossed)
kickboxing really helps tighten n tone, bc u are always using ur core muscles! I got into kickboxing using the billy blanks tae boe videos/dvds (SOOO GREAT), then i started taking classes at a martial arts studio weight training is good bc they say when u build muscle it will contine to burn fat throughout the day! i also wouldnt get on a scale if u are using weights, bc u gain muscle it weighs more than fat...n its tru bc i went to wieght watchers n i gained a pound a week! the program didnt consider how much i was working out and the amount of muscle i had gained!...jsut go by clothes size!!
anyone use the tae bo tapes witht the 'billy bands?' aka resistance bands?
as for diet, whenever i want to jump start a weight loss, i cut out sugar for a little while (probably the HARDEST thing u will do, but ull see results n get motivated!) cut down the carbs like all the girls have said...also, little things to do, i take the stairs everywhere instead of an elevator, i am taking my dog for longer walks,(makes him happier too!)..one good tip someone told me ...when u are eating salads, if u have a habit of drowning it in dressing, put dressign on the side, and dip ur fork in the dressing, then pick the salad up, this way the first thing u taste is the dressing, just without all the calories from loading it on every inch of the salad! HTH!!!

Love this idea...today am taking an exercise day off but Sunday did about a 6 mile walk and then did the gym (50 min. elliptical and weights) and then stationary bike last night for 48 mins on the fatburner cycle..ha! My eating suffered a bit last night, but my legs are killing me today...we'll see..maybe I'll try that arms on demand!!!

Im definitely in!
I want to lose 7-10 more pounds in the next 5 months and I totally think I can do it. I started my serious wedding diet about 10 days ago and I've already lost 31/2 pounds! I also joined the gym yesterday. I am very motivated right now! WE CAN DO IT LADIES!!!

Re: anyone want to join a 'almost the big day exercise thread?'
Count me in! I'm going back to the gym for the first time in almost 2 weeks in a few minutes. I have som much trouble knowing what to do once I'm there. i usually do about 2 miles on the treadmill (I stay on for half an hour at at least 4.0- but I hike it up to 6.0 every few minutes) When it comes to weights I'm lost- but I do the inner and outer thighs and a few arm things. I also LOVE to roller blade so now that its warm out i can do that when I don't go to the gym...or better yet, i can rollerblade the 1.5 miles to the gym and do some weights, then rollerblade home.
As for eating...I usually do pretty good during the week, but the weekends are killer.
I lost like 60 lbs a few years back doing Atkins, but its so hard to get the motivation back. I want to lose AT LEAST 20 lbs by the wedding (4.5 months!)
Motivate me!!

PS-- so far my best motivation is looking at AMJA's Bahama's bachelorette party pics. I wish I could look like that in a white bikini!!! (OR just any bikini)

you can count me in, i'm always up for stuff like this - i was going to take a day off today (walked/ran 6 miles on sunday and did hardcore strength training yesterday. ultimately, i worked out everyday since last tuesday. . . ), but now this thread has changed my mind. i think i'll go for a run!

the arms are the first place you lose weight on so you can do it...This is what my big problem is, my arms are the first place i gain weight on and even too big for my body...So ive been working them out like crazy. Doing weights, incorporating boxing, using the pilates ball to do push ups used to do with the ball and using the weights with the ball too. You can definitely do it. Even if you do 30 mins a day you will see big results...Whats 30 mins of the day, not alot and it can get you to your goal. You can definitely get to your goal...Good luck
I always tell people about Exercise on demand, they have such great exercises on there, its a great channel...Tamilee webb has great workouts, its called 'i want those arms' --------------------------------------------------------------------
