Anyone want to tie FH to their bumper and drive the Indianapolis 500 Raceway for a week? Is it just me?

Anyone want to tie FH to their bumper and drive the Indianapolis 500 Raceway for a week? Is it just me?

Fair warning- I have yet to crack a smile this morning, and since I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve, you should know that my anger will seep into my posts. There's nothing I can do about it. Normally, I would lock myself in my room with a bag of chips and cry into a bucket of fried chicken, but alas, these options are not open to me, and I am finding I have no other coping mechanism.

I'm considering assaulting the homeless, or kicking pigeons to make myself feel better.

**NOTE: I would never assault the homeless or pigeons.

Last night, FH comes to pick me up from work, which he does most days. It's the nicest thing, and he does it because he knows I DESPISE the bus like no other.

Everything was fine in the car. We had a great ride home.

So then we get home, and I don't know if I've told you guys, but we got new phones the other day. He had been all excited to get a new phone, so on Saturday, I suggested we go, and got all swept up and said, Hell, let's just buy them! He was so happy.

PS- I hate this phone. Maybe it's just that I hate change, or that I refuse to read the instructions, because instructions are for losers. But this 'touch screen' business is making me insane. I'm serious, I don't know about blood pressure and all that, but I can tell you that my systolic and diastolic were having a cage match, and I was losing it.

Now, admittedly, I have complained about this phone from the beginning, and i'm sure it's a drag to listen to. But it was expensive, and if you pay for something, shouldn't you get what you pay for?

I think this is our problem. We really differ in this way. We got our invitations the other day, and there was a strange ridge on the top, like a roller mark on the top of the invitation. We have to mount the invites on a black backing, so to me, it was very obvious. I know, you could barely see it, but when it was mounted on the black backing, it was very obvious, at least to me.

I said I was going to call the company and demand new ones. He couldn't understand that- 'what's the big deal?' You can't even SEE it! No one's going to notice!'

But I do. The fact is, if I pay good money that I work hard for, (okay, work for), shouldn't it be perfect? Shouldn't it be just what I paid for?

This aggravated him for some reason. I called up the invitation company, told them the problem, and they said 'no problem, we'll send out a new run'. PS- I complained Monday. We got the new and perfect invites last night.

Why WOULDN'T you do that? What extra effort did it take? Did we make anyone feel bad? I don't think so.

It's the same in a restaurant. He'll get the wrong thing, and just eat it. This drives me to a distraction I can't even explain to you. Or they'll seat us next to the kitchen door, and I'll ask them to move us, and he's mortified. Why would you go out, spend all that money, and be annoyed that you're listening to all that kitchen noise, and getting run past every two seconds? What's it to them to move your seat?

Finally with this phone. So yesterday I'm trying to get the f'ing 'widgets', or icons on the side, to move down. They won't move, and I started getting immediately aggravated (I should mention, in the interest of full disclosure, that I don't have a temper, I have a rip cord, and the slightest thing will make me insane. I'm really trying to work on this, and I'm very aware of it). He starts immediately getting upset, and saying I'm doing it wrong, and tries to do it himself. Lo and behold, they won't move for him either. So he starts moving all these icons on the screen. And I say,

Wait, shouldn't it work perfectly without you moving all those things around? Why do we have to move things to get it to work when it works fine on yours without movingthings?

He says, well, it works now, so what's the problem?

Okay, maybe it's me. But if I buy something, especially something expensive and important like a phone, I expect it to be perfect. Am I wrong? Am I too obsessed with everything being just the way I want it? And when it doesn't go that way, I lose it?

So he goes out to tutor. When he comes back, he's super cold, and barely talking to me. I ask him what's wrong, and I get the one answer that is officially designated by whatever board designates these things to completely send me into the stratosphere of rage:

'Nothing'.

I think this is the most distrespectful answer of all time. There is CLEARLY something wrong. Are you incapable of articulating it to me, or unwilling?

So I sat there and felt unwelcome in my own home. I don't even want to go home tonight, because I hate 'talking', you know, 'talking stuff out'. But I DO it ad nauseum, because if you don't, then stuff builds up, and nothing can ever work.

At least that's what I think.

Now, in his defense, he is the nicest guy on the planet. he's stuck with me through times that must have been very difficult for him to do so. I love him completely.

But I don't feel good today.

Oh Im sorry.. I am kind of the same way too. When I pay alot of money for something I do want it to be just perfect. Fh is like yours... he doesnt complain about anything becuase he is embarrased ,,, if he gets the wrong dish he will eat it too because he thinks they will spit in his new dish! so I can relate.

I dont know where you got your phone, but most companies let you return or exchange your phone in 30 days, why dont you change it?

I'm soooo sorry that you are feeling this way! I would totally return the phone if it is not working correctly! It is expensive and should work they way it is supposed to. Maybe see if you could just switch it without him knowing, sneaky I know, tell him eventually, once you see that it is working correctly. Good Luck!

I'm sorry. The stars must be aligned or something because it seems everyone had a fight with their FH last night, me included. He left without saying goodbye to me this morning, first ever.

You guys sound like us, except he is the one that speaks up and I don't like to make waves. I'm getting better at that though.

For sure, with something like a phone though, I'd take it back for a new one too. Something like that should work perfectly!

You know, I wonder if it has anything to do with my bologna fingers. The touch screen is heat-sensitive. Is it possible that my body heat is too spread out over the vast expanse of my flabby fingertips?

It's possible.

I'm very much in the same boat as you..I had the blackberry storm... all touch...and it drove me CRAZY! It was always updating, always had to load, and AUGH...just was horrible. So, i'm very content with my new voyager. LOL> it's only HALF touch screen! HAHA.

I'm also very simular with FH as you...it drives me up a wall b/c he'll be so passive...like it's no big deal. And, time and time again, I say, if we are paying for this, then they should give us our money worth...

Augh...MEN!

LOL....i can relate as well..I am the more 'mouthy' one too..i toss it up to being the loud Italian/croat while he is the jolly irishmen! lol when we get in an argument he backs down and wont fight...its like he is just too sweet and that annoys the piss out of me even more...my mom yells at me even more and tells me that i am such a beatch and that i should be nicer to him...but hey...he fell in love with the beatch...he doesnt want a p*ssy nice chick

I completely agree with you. If you spend money on something, anything, it should be just what you expected, it should be perfect or it should be exchanged. 100% completely agree with that. My FH and I are very much alike in that way, actually. We both feel that way.

But can I tell you one of my neuroses that my FH makes fun of me about ad nauseum? Ok picture this:

We are in a store getting whatever...things for the house, clothes, shoes...anything. Whatever I pick up, if I decide I want to purchase it, I put the original item I picked up down and get a 'fresh one'. That is right I put down one product and pick up the exact same product that is 'fresher', 'newer', 'in better condition', 'never been touched'...you get the idea. If it is a rack of clothes I pick up the same piece from the back of the rack. Since my crazy head thinks, this one looks neater and probably has never been tried on

It if is an item in a stack or in a box, I take the box from the bottom of the stack. Yes I am insane. I know.

Also another question, when is your Birthday? Are you a virgo?

I feel the exact same way sometimes, not for things like that, but if I'm in a mood and he doesn't want to deal with my emotions, I get...'Why are you getting so bent about everything' I HATE THAT SO MUCH...I hate that sentence and I hate theway he says it, it makes me want to smash him in the face with a blunt object!!!!!!!!! I could go on forever about the things that o!$$ me off but in the end, I agree with you, I love FH more than anything and he is always there for me, through almost 11 years of ups and downs, so I guess he can't be that bad

I am just like you. If I pay a ton of money or even just a little and it's not the way I want it, I demand new ones or some kind of support. FH thinks I am nuts. I however think it's being smart.

wow... let me tell you our FH's could be twins... lol seriously... if i send back something when we are out to eat.. he has a freakin fit.. once i bought him pants and they ripped after like one washing... he wouldn't let me return them.. AHHHHHHHHHHH i could scream sometimes.... I agree completly on the invites that would bother me also... Now mentioning invites.. I told FH like weeks ago i needed all his friends and families addresses so the enevelopes could be addressed... well I went nuts trying to get his peoples addresses and all i asked was to get your co workers... everyday this week he 'forgot' HOW???????????? How could you forget we are getting married and are sending out invitations in like 2 weeks.. i tell you.. i can't... sometimes..

so yes i feel your pain.. and we would be driving down the indy 500 together...

Hope you are feeling better....

I DO THIS TOO!!! I will go through EVERY SINGLE ONE to get the best one EVER manufactured.

Christmas shopping was unpleasant, as you can imagine.

And I'm a Scorpio. What does that mean???

I have to thank you girls- it makes me feel so much better to know that it's not just me. I really appreciate it. I love you guys!!!

And then he said I roll my eyes too much, which obviously yielded an eye roll.
