I live next door to where the crane fell this morning. It's so scarey. If it fell the opposite direction it would have been my building.

I have been working in construction for over 10 years. THis never happened. I don't know what the construction companies are doing because this is INSANE!!!!!!

Yes, I live on 91st and 3rd. It's so awful and this area is a complete mess. I feel so bad for the construction workers and the people in the building.
And yes, thank god you're ok. How scary indeed.

wow....I am on 88th and first! Glad everyone is ok...I have been worried about that crane. I was wondering since March where it would fall. I hate to say it I almost had a premonition. This is somewhat off topic...but we should have an upper east side bridal bee! We could make favors, or stamp envelopes, or do shots.

It's horrible all the things that are happening now a days. What it comes down to is that these people are being careless and want to do things as fast as possible just for the money. IMO... If they would take their time and make sure the cranes are put up and re-enforced correctly and as good as can be, then none of this would be happening. its just sad

Yeah. One of my co-workers lives right on that block. She was frightened to death.
