Can you tell me if you've gone to the Imperial Palace Luau? We found it on the vegas site yesterday but before I buy tickets I was wondering if it was any good. It says $50VIP seats: All you can eat hawaiian buffet, All you can drink Mai Tai and Pina Colada, and the show. I thought this might be fun for the first night we're there. Our dinner reservations are made for most of the week besides.

Re: Anyone who's been to Vegas....
I don't suggest it at all. The food is terrible there, and it's an 'older' crowd. What are you looking for exactly? Dinner w/dancing/partying afterwards? I can recm'd some clubs/lounges to you that are fantastic, and you won't need to be on a 'list.' When are you going? Let me know, I have a few friends there and could get you into a VIP Party or two.

Re: Anyone who's been to Vegas....
Thanks so much just the info. I was looking for. We kinda just wanted to relax the day we get there. We get in at 9:30am on the 31st and have alot of running around to do before checkin at 3pm. So we figure between the flight and finalizing everything before checkin we'll probably want to nap like old people and then get up to go to dinner. We are staying in Treasure Island which is right there really so the luau sounded like fun. Just skeptical because the hotel is an older one. We have VIP passes to Tangerine because we are in the hotel. We have reservations for dinner at Postrio(Venitian), Kokomos(Mirage), and Emerils Fish House(MGM), and Olives(Bellagio).

I don't know much about the night life in Vegas. We honeymooned in Vegas for just 3 days and we stayed at the Venetian. Just wanted to let you know that Postrio was delicious. Food was amazing!!!!

Re: Anyone who's been to Vegas....
My parents own a home in Las Vegas and I go quite often. I would definitely stay way from the Imperial Palace. (We call it the Imperial Toilet!!) There is so much to do there, that would definitely not be on my list. The place is kind of dumpy. Try lasvegas.com for some alternatives.

ICK- DO NOT DO THIS! Its a seedy older hotel and I am sure the food will be awful. Save your money and go to Commander's Palace at The Balliago instead- our favorite!

Imperial Palace is nasty and smells funny! And many people were missing lots of teeth there. Have fun!

Never ate at Olives but the service at Commander's Palace at Bellagio was the best I have ever had.

How about Olives?
Olives is awesome, but there is one here in NYC. You should go to the VooDoo Lounge on top of the Rio before sunset. the view is awesome. I can't remember if the restuarant up there is named teh same thing, but it's good too.

I'll look it up thanks. How is the food? We were actually planning on going to Olives our last night there since our flight leaves at midnight. So we can watch the fountain show.
