Anyone work in Human Resources or related?

Any pointers or tips regarding what you look for in a resume? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

DH is a Regional Recruitment Manager and has been a headhunter. He looks at resumes and interviews people for a living. I'll pick his brain for you.

He won't be home until 9:30 tonight, so I might not respond tonight, but I won't forget you.

I do most of the hiring for my area. I always look for resumes with no spelling or grammatical errors (for me if someone does not pay close enough attention to their resume won't pay attention to their work!), and proper formatting.

Also important is relevance to the position. I just got a resume this week from someone applying for a web design position who managed a novelty store at the mall--not at all relevant to this position, and the entire cover letter referred to what she did in the store, inventory, cash register, etc. Even if it is a stretch, try to relate something in each position that you have worked at to the job you are applying for.
