ANyones cat do this??

HUMP??? My cat is fixed, and he was fine all thru the Summer.....but lst year in the fall and winter he was wanting to hump anything he could...we'd hold him, and he'd want to hum our arms,, or leg....so we just put him down....

But he is doing it again...if you are sitting there he climbs up, he wants to Hump, or he will go to his bed and looks like he is humping against that.....its getting to be really aggravating!! Then he will get up, and lick himself....uuuugh

Who else has a humping cat??!

I thought we were the only ones with weird cats. lol. Our one cat ''Rigatoni'' sexes it up with a blanket or any smooshy stuffed animal. And God forbid you try and take it while he is with his women. He starts screaming and then he''ll bite the blankie or animal.

His mother 'momma' is also fixed but she still gives birth. We will hear her cry and she''ll carry either a sock or a small toy around in her mouth.

OMG! I thought my FH''s cat was the only fixed 'humper'. He humps clothes and towels and also bites them, but he bites them while he is doing the deed. He even stole clothes off of the neighbors clothesline and brought them home to knock boots.
I asked the vet and he said this can happen if the cat is not fixed at a very young age. FH''s cat was fixed very young, but I guess not young enough. He also enjoys watching us!!! I have to kick him out of the room bc he is WAY to into it!!!!

Mine''s a humper, and ever since our other cat died, he seems to have taken a liking to our legs AND he''s fixed, so go figure. I thought only dogs did this!

mine is 4 years old, and still had NOT shown theis behavior.
My parents have 2 cats, and one is much older, and he humps blankets. The little one seen him do it, and now he started to do it.
I saw...Smakey is doing the 'Humpty Dance'
They are both fixed.

Ours does it too. He doesn''t hump anything in particular he just starts doing the 'dance' as we call it. And, if you try to stop him he screams and trys to bite you. I''ve had male cats before and none of them did this. Glad ours isn''t the only one who does this.

Yup - mine does it too!! And he''s fixed. We''ve nicknamed him 'Slut Kitty.' He humps his bed (it is soooo badly mushed out of shape) and his adopted brother Figaro. Figaro does not appreciated being mounted in the least, and Tuxedo''s advances end up in a loud, fur-flying fight every time.

A question: Are all of your humping kitties strictly indoor cats??

Tux used to be a stray, but his overprotective Mommy wants him safe indoors. FH thinks that he should be let out so he can have a girlfriend!

Re: ANyones cat do this??

my cat is female....but my dog is fixed and humps...but it is only when he wants to show some kind of power...like when we are holding a toy and he tries to get it...

maybe when you are holding the cat he realizes that you have power and he wants to show you he is the alpha male?

Hmm Jessica you brought up a good note. Rigatoni is mostly an indoor cat. Is everyone elses???

yes I think being anindoor cat has to do with it...mine is strictly indoors, I wish I could let him out....
My cat Cloudy who grew up wioth me (and died at the age is 16) was an outdoor mostly, but slept inside, etc....and he NEVER EVER did weird stuff my Tigger does!
