Anyone's FH 'Dedicating' A Song For You?

My FH turned to me at the Billy Joel Concert and said that he wants to dedicate this song to me... I love it because it really sounds like my personality... but...it's kinda mean too!!!

Did Billy Joel sing it at the concert? I'd heard that he said he'd never perform it again...in any case, I do love that song but I know what you mean about it being sort of 'mean.'

yep! and my FH was singing it to me....

i think most of my guests (ok, forget that, the most important guests) will understand --- it really is ME... but..... the others will be like...

'does he even like her?'

maybe it will be done later in the night when everyone is half in the bag!

I think that's sweet...he know and loves ALL sides of you!!

My fh tells me I am the most or biggest everything....I can be the kindest or the meanest....so loving or so cruel etc...and he's right...everyone has a flip side...it's great that your fh will celebrate yours!

jess - i was thinking about the post you had about dwelling on things, etc... and it is so me, too (we have a lot in common!)... I dwell, I bring up past issues, I can't let things go... I am never wrong, always right....etc. etc. etc.

It wasn't until the other night when my mom said something and it was slightly mean and i said to myself... 'now you know how it feels'.....

In comparison...this is the song that FH doesn't know I want to dedicate to him since I am moving to be with him.....

yeah, it's so true...sometimes you need to hear it from someone else to kinda give a reality check...I try to remember to not be AS blunt (but I am a straightshooter) I just do it 'lovingly' LOL

now when I feel an 'issue' bubbling up, I try to work it out in my head, and remind myself..Hey- this is resolved. don't let it spoil TODAY! It's an uphill battle sometimes!

In any event, I am debating a few songs to fh..most likely either

i actually thought about dancing to this with my dad. it is a beautiful song - i dont find it mean @ all. imo - i would be flattered if my fh dedicated that song to me.

i just saw billy joel last night - his concert was GREAT!! and i sang everyword to this song!!

My FH said he wants to! But he won't tell me what song!!! He wants it to be a surprise!

its funny b/c my sisters EX, said the same thing w/that song..its her to a 't'
