my moh is my best friend since kindergarden, and my bm's are family. but i have 2 really close girl friends who i think thought they would be bm's and i get the feeling one of them in particular is upset that i didn't ask her. i asked them both to do a reading at the ceremony, but i don't think that made it any better.
i didn't want a large bp and i don't think she understands why i wouldn't just add 2 more bms and include both of them. i just don't want that many ppl in the bp!! anyone else having this problem?

Are these girls married? My single girlfriends who have never been thro this I am finding arent understanding why things are the way they are, while my married/engaged friends are a million times more understanding to everything going on...they know how tough things are.
this is so true i know for myself . . . i am only in one of my friend's BP and a few of my other friends, who i consider best friends - are also getting married you know who you are
well, if i wasnt engaged and not in their BP i think i would have been upset and thought they didnt consider me a close friend. . . but now since i am planning my own VERY small BP (all family except for two friends) i know that i consider them my best friends i just want to keep my BP small!

Re: anyone's friends upset not in bp?
My story is a little different, I originally wanted a small BP, but had such a hard time deciding that I wanted to ask all my close GF and tell them they had to pay for dress since I wanted to have them all, anyhoo now I have 5...
I called to ask my so called best friend since kindergarten to be in our wedding and she was so high rollin on something (shes really messed up her life) that I couldnt even get the words in to ask, so I havent, and won't .
And havent heard from her 'sober' since. We live so far away that I'm not there to keep her out o trouble anymore, we had that relationship growing up.... BUT I know in a few months shell go through a phase and call me and wonder why i didnt ask her, and its gonna be hard to tell her its because you were to fried to even realize I was aking you...

that is such a tough situation - i am so sorry that you have to deal with that. . . i know how hard it is to see someone you love acting that way

Re: anyone's friends upset not in bp?
I am having a small wedding in Hawaii and I believe that only 3 friends from HS are coming. I have asked 2 to be in the WP and the other I haven't. When I told this person I was engaged she didn't really say much. I feel kinda bad if she is the only friend from HS there that is not in the WP but then again not enough to change my plans. I have been avoiding calling her and discussing the wedding party with her since FH and I got engaged

I originally wanted a small wedding party but it's up to 7 couples... I'm having my friends who arent in the bp do readings and giving out programs or do the guest books. There's ALWAYS something they can take part in.

Re: anyone's friends upset not in bp?
You can't please everyone --- this is a good example why!
An old man, a boy and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked.
As they went along they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the boy was riding.
The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions.
Later, they passed some people that remarked, “What a shame, he makes that little boy walk.”
They then decided they both would walk! Soon they passed some more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So, they both rode the donkey.
Now they passed some people that shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a poor donkey.
The boy and man said they were probably right, so they decide to carry the donkey. As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.
The moral of the story?
If you try to please everyone, you might as well kiss your *** goodbye!
