Anything bad about the Swan Club?

Anything bad about the Swan Club?

Hi All I saw the Swan Club and I love the outdoor space however I found the rooms to be claustrophobic. The Camelot Room would be ok though.
Does anyone have any feedback about the venue? I cant seem to find anything else that has such a nice space at that price. I'm looking for something in Nassau with a nice garden or water view.

im booked at SC... the only thing i didnt like about it which i didnt look at before i booked was the bathrooms...super duper tiny stalls... i still would have booked but it just caught me a bit offguard i guess...

IMO, you wont find much of a better deal than they offer... i got the platinum menu (aka the works) for for a sun in aug im paying $115 pp WITH TAX AND GRAT! the food is really good.... i suggest you go to their showcase on feb 5th and try it all out and possibly win something while your there...

eta: i originally wanted a beach setting and loved the crescent beach club since it is like the only beachy hall in nassau but once i saw the prices for summer, i

my other choice would have been westbury manor... or if you can travel a bit further into lindenhurst, look at CLM... it has the whole water/beach setting

I was in a wedding there and I couldn't say enough good things about it. Grounds are amazing, food is even better... I was thinking of having my wedding there but it was just too far for me.

SC is amazing!!! i got married there in May and absolutely loved it. Its so charming and cozy and so different from other reception halls. I was in the camelot room. the service was amazing, i cant say enough about them!

our reception was at Larkfield Manor on a Sun evening (actually labor day weekend and they did not charge extra because it was a holiday) and it was spectacular - - so much food at the cocktail hour and they offered seconds on the dinner entrees. and this was not their best menu - - we felt there was so much food on the one we selected we didn't need to upgrade. anyway that was $75 before tax/tip. I believe their rates are still in that area but go up to about $100 depending on what you get/add.

the decor is tasteful and the people you deal with are wonderful, attentive and helpful. you might want to check it out. so without knowing exactly what was in the package for $115 I can't say this is better but we were more than satisfied which is why I still try to let future brides know about this treasure.

Not sure what your room set up would have been , but what I didn't like was that the 'room' outside where the ceremony would have been would be the same room where the cocktail hour would be... guests would leave the heated 'tentlike' room and walk through the gardens and come back to the same room decorated for cocktail hour. My wedding is in March, what if it was cold and people didn't want to walk outside though the garden...that's what i didn't like...

IMO I went to a showcase to try some of the food and me and my BP did not like the food at all....it may have been an off night or something but that turned me off completely and didnt book them and I would have gotten a sat night for the same price I am getting a sat day at my place.

I would try the food first before you book any place.

Thats exactly why im asking. I was actually there this summer for an event (not a wedding) and the food was pretty *ok* which is low on my standards. But i keep reading these rave reviews about the food and Im not convinced!

Its hard to decide what's more important- a beautiful garden/water view or great food!

Re: Anything bad about the Swan Club?

I'll be getting married in the camelot room in May, but I probably would not have booked the SC for any other room. I felt like the rooms were too cramped, and like what other brides have said, I didn't like the CH and the ceremony in the same room. Personally, I booked the SC b/c of its location and setting. I LOVE the fact that its in the middle of nowhere, and in May the gardens are absolutely breathtaking. The price was great for what we got.
Ideally, I would've LOVED to have booked the Woodlands, but they didn't have any dates I was looking for, which really bummed me out.
BUT, with the economy and all, I'm very happy that I chose the SC.
I figure, the food should be comparable to other RHs, so i really didn't focus on that.

Re: Anything bad about the Swan Club?

fod is so subjective so its hard to ask people for opinions on that or base your opinion off of others tastes... you just have to go and see for yourself...

Ive been to places before that had really high rating for food and ended up not enjoying it... its all a matter of pref... that being said, its impossible to please all of your guests tastes, so some will end up liking it, others wont... and it doesnt matter how highly raved about the food is

You should base your decision on what you like and not on reviews. For me the most important things were food, photo and dj everything else was not my priority.

They say that people will only remember the food and music at a wedding.

It all depends on what you set as a priority.

Can someone tell me more about this showcase? I'm getting married there and I fell in love with the gardens.

well, you have to register for it, so call them up to set it up...

they have a bunch of their house vendors there and maybe some others... win some prizes... which at this point, we prob wont need

and then they have a whole sampling of CH food... stations are setup with food... and then later on i think they have a dj/band playing that you can hear...

thats about it... its really just a good way to sample food brought mom n dad last yr and they thought it was wonderful!

ETA' lemme not forget they had viennese set up too!!!!!!!! yummmmmmmm
