I did our table #'s according to our age...ex:table one age one of both of us. It came out really cute. Honestly, the thing that everyone really appreciated was the memory table.I made a place card holder for each family member that died and put it with a lit candle and a poem. Everyone was very touched by it.

Thats a really cute idea- I really like it!!

I am planning on doing a time capsule instead of a guest book. I am also having the table names be famous couples, both real and fictional. I am trying to come up with some more personal touches also!!!

1) We had a bagpiper play while FH walked in.

2) We had our menus made of chocolate.

3) We had candles coming down from the ceiling behind our table.

4) Our reception hall had 2 entrances (one door each side of the DJ). Our parents and siblings were introduced from one door, and we were introduced from the other door. Usually, everyone comes out of the same door so we wanted something different.

5) We had different food stations at the cocktail hour that represented us. One was an irish station with bangers and mash, sausages and Guiness beer (FH is Irish). Another was an indian station (I'm indian). Another was sushi (our first date).

I LOVEEE chocolate!! i think that is amazing!!!!!!!
6) The cake matched my dress!

not that much, but ....
-we had a bagpiper come to the church.
-DH wore his military uniform.
-we had our our grandparents and parents wedding pictures displayed at the RH, which people got a big kick out of.
-i made a guest book for people to sign on Shutterfly, with baby pictures of DH and I, through the years of us dating, etc
-we are huge Billy Joel fans, so we sent one of our engagement pictures to him, and he actually autographed it, so we had this displayed at the wedding!!!!

wax seals instead of stickers on invites/favors

something different with escort cards: hard to explain but ribbons with names on them attached to corresponding letters of last name.. look for DIY pics in January...

OMG I love everything. Where did you get the chocolate menus? They are so unique and beautiful. Did you actually eat one?

How did you do the Billy Joel autograph? We got engaged at his concert and would love to have him sign pics from that night.
TIA

I think that is such a cute idea! I was thinking to do something of that nature...question:

Where did you get those gorgeous frames and the layout for the table numbers?

Also, did you scan the photos and do a photoshop thing...or did you use the actual photos?

I really love the menu on chocolate and table numbers according to age. I must admit, I might steal those! Fantastic!
