Re: anything original?

I'm having irish dancers perform as a surprise for my parents and guests. Also, my fh and I live on the water, so instead of having a guest book, we are going to get adirondack chairs and have guests sign them with a sharpie.
I'm also playing a lot to the city where we are getting married. I live in NY, but I am from Baltimore, and this is where the wedding is, so our table names will be named after Baltimore streets, our favors will be famous baltimore cookies.

1) We had a bagpiper play while FH walked in.

2) We had our menus made of chocolate.

3) We had candles coming down from the ceiling behind our table.

4) Our reception hall had 2 entrances (one door each side of the DJ). Our parents and siblings were introduced from one door, and we were introduced from the other door. Usually, everyone comes out of the same door so we wanted something different.

5) We had different food stations at the cocktail hour that represented us. One was an irish station with bangers and mash, sausages and Guiness beer (FH is Irish). Another was an indian station (I'm indian). Another was sushi (our first date).

6) The cake matched my dress!

We are going to have Irish Dancers as well.....I did Irish Dancing for 15 years, so I must have them. We are also going to have bagpipers outside of the church and to introduce our dancers.

We are having an anniversary dance instead of garter toss, cutting the cake to a sesame street song and I think that is about it!

Thanks!! It was 8 months of constant stress and headache, but worth it in the end! Now we can't spend anymore money for the next 50 years since we don't have any left!!

Since we are 'rockers' I am incorporating what we love most - music!
I had the idea of making the table numbers, instead of just numbers, I am also going to make the tables like 'AC/DC' will be Table 1 , Table 2 will be 'The Beatles' and have a pic of the band on the actual table card ya know?

So far that is my idea, its still up in the air with how I will work it.

I did our table #'s according to our age...ex:table one age one of both of us. It came out really cute. Honestly, the thing that everyone really appreciated was the memory table.I made a place card holder for each family member that died and put it with a lit candle and a poem. Everyone was very touched by it.

Oh! Those table numbers according to age are AMAZING! How touching.

We are having Mariachi's perform the father daughter dance and then stay to perform during dinner. Our tables will be named for European cities we've visited and will be paired with pictures.

Don't know if it was original, but I had my centerpieces made up as 6 individual bouquets arranged to look like 1 big arrangement. Then at the end of the night each couple got to take home their own bunch - it was a hit!

Thanks! They provided a lot of stress since we had to be 100% sure about our buffet menu before having them made, and we needed almost a month to get them printed and mailed since the chocolate maker is in Maryland.

I had a bellydancer during my cocktail hour. I really wanted to be the bellydancer but too much stress the day of the wedding, couldn't afford any more...

I don't know how original this was but we had two different centerpieces and cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake. I also made a seating scroll instead of traditional seating cards.
