Anything other than a catering hall??

Yesterday we did our first full day of reception hall shopping and I could not find a place I like!!
All catering halls pretty much look the same and I feel that they're just not 'me'.

I loved the Carltun in Eisenhower Park but it was just too expensive. Does anyone know of any different types of wedding venues?, has anyone used a tent for their reception and where??

We're having our wedding at George Washington Manor...definitely not a catering hall and doesn't have that feel to it either

I did not realize you were getting married there too.

I love the setting. It's more on the 'colonial' style. Not the 'traditional' look of other halls and yet not a restaurant look either.
