I cant not believe how $$$ anything w/ the word wedding is.............. Flowers, DJ, Photographers, etc.....Honestly its ridiculous. I mean am I the only one who feels this way especially when the economy is so bad.

I totally agree. It stinks bc u have to cut ur guest list bc it's so expensive. Everything costs $$$. We've only booked our place so far and that was only the deposit! We have a whole year and a half of working our A***** off to pay for this!

You took the words out of my mouth!!! I am going over the budget over and over again, and I have no idea how to afford a wedding on top of everything else we need from day to day!! I am on a tight budget and still it doesn't seem possible to afford!

Its hards for brides like me because my FH and I are paying for the whole thing. I tell you one thing we have to help each other out w/ quotes and deal that we are getting from the different vendors. I don't see how brides can afford to spend all kinds of money for wedding things now a days

I hear you date twin...as soon as they hear the word wedding their eyes get big and you can see $$$ in their eyes !
BTW not only do we share the same wedding day but also the same FH name! LOL

i agree, anything wedding related is so expensive. We're paying for the wedding ourselves so we are really trying to stick to our budget.

everything is so expensive!!! as much as i'm looking forward to a wonderful day of celebrating our marriage with our closest family and friends, there's normally one point every day where i ask myself, 'is this really worth all the money?'

it is very ridiculous. I am convienced that the wedding industry is a racket. Be patient and do alot a reseach. You will find vendors who can be fair in pricing.

You know what funny...in one of the bridal books that I have...they said that when booking the hall that a bride should not tell them that the function is a wedding. They said that the menu is usually very similar and the price drops But yes I totally agree with you when you say you dont know how people afford these things!!!

I was just talking this over with fh...we were trying to figure out how we can save some money...and with the photographer we originally wanted parent albums...this boosted the price like $1000!!! So I went on shutterfly and saw they have wedding backrounds and you can make a magazine style album for like $50.00 I thought that was great!! So there are ways that you can save, but you really have to search...

I totally understand!! Every time we try to really figure out our budget, we always seem to add something new to the list and the total keeps adding up and stresses the crap out of us. I try to figure out little things to do like DIY stuff that would save us some money. But you're definitely not the only one who thinks like that.

I totally agree..
We're having a very small wedding..under 75 people.
I'm so sick and tired of hearing that we need to have a 100 person minimum but if it was for just a party, there would be no minimum.

dont laugh but my photographer uses shutterfly when he posts ALL pictures and will even make up the albums through there if we want.... or we can do it ourselves.... either way it'll still be cheap!

we're paying ourselves too and yes it is expensive but we started saving from day #1 and put all extra $$ be it from holidays, bday gifts and my part-time job into the wedding acct. sure we may be depriving oursleves of some things for a year and a half but all worth it.
however, yes things are very expesnsive so it's not easy. we worked out a budget and try to stick to it and also have a limited guest list

I completely agree. And fh does not come from a cheap family so im trying to get little bits as I go... butI feel like screaming....COME ON! Loosen up on the prices! Theres a wedding every day cant you be nice and not charge so much? lol
the first place to open and sell things for bottom dropping prices (ie-wholesale) is going to make a million bucks ina year
