Anyway to jazz up a sheet cake?

I orderd a plain sheet cake from BJ's for our engagment party. We just needed something big enough for 60+ people; and that was the best deal. Didn't want to spend $100+ for a decorated cake.

Is there anything i can do to jazz it up?? Any edible wedding things on sale at Michaels or any of the party stores?? Oooh-i have to order my balloons tonight-i wonder if they'll sell anyting there??

Totally! At any drug store or supermarket they sell those icing things, edible flowers, assorted sprinkles, etc. Practice first on how to use the icing tubes, and then go for it! (And they come in every imaginable color too)

I got the cake decorated with the basic flowers they do on any sheet cake and it says Congratulations with our names on it.

But i think i want some wedding related figures. When i go to the party store tonight i'm gonna see if they have any cute wedding things i can place on the cake. Even if they're not edible and i have to remove them before we cut it that fine!

you could be fancy and get lace presses to make a nice lace engraved look on it..

maybe even get a few inexpensive cookie cutters (make up a batch of fondant, you can find recipes online) and add cute shapes to the cake (i'm assuming florals)

maybe go to michaels, buy a strand of faux pearls off a roll and edge the top edge and trim the bottom with pearls (wash pearls before putting them on!)
